Blotchy blue colour from my Dell laser C1760NW

I have a brand new Dell C1760NW
It's done about 200 pages
I am getting blotchy printing from the blue

See the image below

It's less than a month old - but this is a brand new replacement
The previous one had the same problem (it got replaced because of stuck paper)
No compatible ink has been used I would add

Dell got me to do a firmware upgrade - that hasn't done anything

I need printing in the colour block as shown. For both printers, it started off as perfectly fine

As much as I love getting a brand new printer replaced, I'd rather carry on and just use the printer

Ink level: the Dell monitor system says I have full ink for all 4 colours

Any suggestions?

Hi,

it is either too dry or too moist in the room where printer is set or paper is (was) stored.

Flip paper stack upside down or try other paper brand.
Or try printing in other room after 24 h.

Hmm, I can't really do those things

The paper I have is special invoice paper with a label on the top left. So I always have to print on this on the same way up.

The printer is currently inside the house. I wouldn't say it was anywhere at risk of being in the extreme conditions mentioned

The first printer when the problem arose was being used in the garage outside. But not exposed to any extremes

I'll see what dell say

Any other options would be great

I think Łukasz could very well be right. Here is some info about proper paper storage and conditioning.

I never knew it was that scientific
The paper is stored in a plastic sealed pouch - not airtight, but still sealed

Maybe the plastic pouch is the cause of the problems, preventing the paper conditioning, by being almost airtight? When you buy a pack of paper, it normally comes wrapped in paper.

Only paper specifically made for laser printers should be used and no other, moisture content is the most common cause of heart ache when using a laser printer..
