Artisan 835 aftermarket cartridge issue

Hi,

I have an Artisan 835. I'm using all original cartridges except an off-brand black. I've been using the
black for about 2-3 months in the printer. I print something maybe once or twice a week.

I get this message that the printer doesn't recognize the cartridge. I tried putting in two other off-brand
cartridges from two different makers. They don't work. If I put the original used up Epson black cartridge in the
printer, it takes that.

I unplugged the machine for a 30 mins. no help. Is their maybe a modded firmware to get past this issue?

Quite often you have to have ALL your carts from either OEM or 3rd party.
You cannot mix some of these off brnad carts with OEM.
Is it completely refusing it or just saying that it is non genuine?

Hey,

Get a genuine cartridge either all generic, either replace the smart chip from the generic cartridge you have with the genuine's, that should solve the problem.
PS: Check out youtube/google for resetting your chip if it shows the cartridge is empty.

What brand do you use for your generic black cartridge?

Unplugged printer and put all generics in and no luck. Still getting the error message on Black. If I put the original black in with the generic colors, I just get a low ink warning on the original black.
