I see they don't sell BCI-6 carts so this ink is probably pigmanted.
They do sell BCI-6 cartridges.
I contacted 7 Day shop and they said the ink is dye based so its okay for BCI-6.

You're quite right. On their site, the carts are at the bottom of page2 of compatibles, and I missed them first time.

They say the refills are "...suitable for cartridges manufactured by Canon, HP & Lexmark, including IBM, Samsung & Olivetti. Not for use with Epson ink cartridges." I didn't know these other manufacturers used dye based inks. So is it only Epson that uses pigment inks? If so can I use refill inks left over from my last printer (Lexmark) on my current Canon IP4000?

I'd avoid using their compatible BCI-6 cartridges.
I bought some lately and they wrecked my printhead.
The cartridges were faulty as the sponges didnt allow the ink to get to the outlet port and most of them were blocked on opening.
Never encountered such bad compatibles before,I had to throw half of them out.

Toss the Lexmark ink. Best to use refill inks that are formulated for your printer. The ink may cause damage to your printhead, and the colors may be quite different.

Update on this ink from 7 Day Shop
I've used 4 packs of it so far and it is of good quality.
It comes in a nice box with each colour in a plastic container/syringe.
Has plugs ,gloves, needles and all accessories included.
Superb value .
