I was trying to find a better quality fluorescent starter and came upon this:-
http://www.osram.co.uk/media/resource/hires/334214/technical-guide---starter.pdf
It explains the mysteries of the "starter", something I have never really thought about, but non-the-less it is quite a clever device.

Bureaucracy gone made phase: 1

Phase 11 will be when you will need certification, or special training, or a licence to use them. :)

I live in a Government capital city with hundreds of thousands of bureaucrats. I could entertain you with stories of stupidities and waste for hours.

O’ I don’t know, I liked the explanation on how the little starter works, even if I still don’t quite fully understand it, anyway I prefer florescent tubes over CFL bulbs anyday..

@Roy Sletcher, I ignore all the government hue ha, certification and licencing and just use or install whatever I need, they’ve now started licencing drones and model aeroplanes here, but who the hell cares because they can never find the owner anyway.. :D
