As my new Ender3 is now back up and running, things got even worse last week, my trusty old CR-10 which has been with me for the best part of 8 years and many a standard lamp remake has finally hit the dust..

The mother board gave up and I can’t source another one of that age, so I decided enough was enough and gave her a decent burial, now I’m in the hunt for another 3D printer, hopefully this coming Black Friday will have something I like at a reasonable price..

P.S. Creality are still helping me with good suggestions and free parts for my other CR-10, but I don’t hold out much hope for this one as time goes on, I reckon if it could be fixed it would have happen by now, but you can’t keep a good Chinaman from trying..

This old familiar girl is no more..

Time to get a Bambulab.... :hide

As a matter of fact, If I started from scratch right now, two brands that I never ever consider would be Bambulab and Prusa.

No I’m sticking with Creality Ender 3Se, this one I have is growing on me since I was able to tame her down to a more comfortable speed, that’s saying something because I hated the machine when I first got her. Now it looks like I will be getting one or two more to replace my aging fleet..

Coming from CURA 4.1 to Creality_ PrintV5.1 Slicer was a huge step for me and it’s taken me ages to adapt but I’m getting there, because all these newer printers now are using these types of slicers, so I’ve had to wake up and smell the roses.. (Reluctantly)

@Redbrickman was invaluable and help guide me through most of the difficult steps, he has the patients of a saint and even got me to switch to PLA+ for my new Mark 6 Lamp standard..

This PLA+ filament is slightly better in my opinion. It’s a bit lighter than the normal PLA, in weight, it prints a bit smoother and is more flexible, plus the jury’s still out on the smell..

With this new printer I’m planning on trying an old half roll of ABS I have left over from 5 years ago..
I’m just waiting to see if there is any discounts on the Ender 3 in the Black Friday specials..

P.S. I am running the guts out of this new Ender 3 printing my new Mark 6, I can trust it to run all night since getting more control from her, its running almost 24/7… "Roll on Black Friday"..

Time ago I got hooked on Voron ( thanks Redbrickman :) ) and I don't feel the need to try another brands, in spite of all the markething bullsh*t that some of them are spreading out there. I'm looking at you Joseph Prusa ( the man with the mega-ego and very low ethics .. ).

I have my Voron which I love but in a fit of madness I backed the new Snapmaker U1. It's the most exciting multi-colour printer to emerge yet and the wastage is virtually nil. It won't arrive until end January and it will not replace the Voron but I have some things I would love to do with multicoloured printing (Hueforge being one). There is no way I would ever consider an AMS style printer due to the insane wastage. I've seen prints with AMS where the print was say 100gms and the wastage 600 Gms :he Not to mention the time take to print with AMS type printers - the multi-head printers cut it to a fraction of the time.

Time will tell if the U1 is a keeper but for now it seems to be the best multi-head printer at prices the ordinary person can afford (Take note Prusa!)

I too would love a Voron printer, that's also thanks to @Redbrickman, but one, I’m hooked on the Creality printers and two, I couldn’t honestly afford the Voron, my misses would have a heart attack if I tried to spend that much on a Voron..
