Hi should printing on linen paper give an "aged effect"? This is what I expected but what prints just looks "pixelated". Is this normal? I tried printing on both rougher and smoother sides of paper, same effect. Tried out on Canon IP7250 with original inks. I'm shooting in the dark here, just trying out something new. Can somebody help please? Obliged

What type of linen paper are you using ? Is that suitable for inkjet printing ? - The print looks pixelated - could you please scan a small portion of a printout and post it here for better illustration of your question

The paper I bought cheap as part of a kit, it's sold as cotton but it doesn`t stretch so I take it that it's just textiled paper, weight is around 240. I need to know if using this paper can actually damage the printer. On printer settings "high resolution" instead of just matte the pixelation isn't quite as bad Forum Scan.jpg

I don't think it won't damage the printer, but it may not give you a good print if the surface is not treated/coated for
    use with an inkjet printer.
It appears to me that there is some banding in the printout - how does the nozzle check look, please post it here, and just crop the scan to the printed range.

@stoppage Is the green tone in your print intended? if it is not then this might help get a more neutral B/W print.

Do you mean it more likely to damage the printer than not at all? The double negative (underlined words) imply a positive "will damage".

The nozzle check is fine and the green tone is just a peculiarity of the scanner. My main issue here is still the pixellation when I use this new "canvas paper" as it's sold. What effect should canvas printing have?

I still think there are nozzle problems looking to this highly enlarged crop form the above image,

    Forum Scan 1.jpg
which is overlayed with jpeg artifacts of the original image and a barely visible fabric structure.
Please let's start with a nozzle check print.

A scan of the nozzle check printout shows artefacts that actually don`t exist...I`m scanning with an Canon 5150. But the actual nozzle check looks o.k., the printer is brand new and printing on normal and photopaper matt is perfect, pixellation only occurs with whis textured "canvas" paper
