I have been printing with a re-manufactured black 901 cartridge on an HP J4680 printer for a couplke of months. All of a sudden, the printer shows a "cartridge error" and refuses to print through it. If I follow the instructions to bypass the error for a single job (*+#, 124, Underware Menu, "checksum for relock data input"), the print quality looks excellent yet the printer refuses to print normally through it. There's still a lot of ink in this cart and I'm curious if anyone can help me diagnose why this is happening.

Here is a post with links to some HP cartridge tricks. HP cartridges have an expiration date, maybe this is the cause of the error?
