Fine Art Ink Jet Printing book

I have send a post to The Hat trying to make peace which may or may not be effective. My previous post to you was in the same vein. Could we agree to disagree IE: Disagree without being disagreeable. You obviously found that unpalatable and unacceptable. Your choice. I have no problem with...

Fine Art Ink Jet Printing book

I am having difficulty reconciling these posts with the earlier postings and comments I have made. I have reconciled them as best I can in the sequence presented in The Hats post to me. I do not accept that any of my posts were demeaning or disrespectful.. In fact I go to great lengths to avoid...

Fine Art Ink Jet Printing book

I have often pondered this point when trying to Are you sure you want to go there? The nature of this site with replies out of sequence makes it hard to formulate logical responses to specific posts. Not like sites which have responses indented in time sequence and colour coded to identify...

Fine Art Ink Jet Printing book

Cherry picking small bits and pieces from an eight paragraph posting of circumlocutory and contradictory piece of text does not make it succinct or clear to me or the reader. Guess it's probably best we agree to disagree on this one. Shalom. rs

BASICS of understanding Canon Carts and Long Term Storage

I don't think anybody should have to apologize for offering a valid personal opinion as long as it is reasonable and respectfully presented. If it is wrong others can tell you why with reasons, preferably logic, and references or links to verifiable sources. Gaining knowledge is an ongoing...

Possibly - but that is not what he said. But don't worry we still love him. He has probably forgotten more about ink jet printers and ink jet printing than we will ever know. Can't beat practical real world street smarts. Especially when the pressure is on and you need to get the job done...

    Always this messy?

Everybody makes their choices based on the facts - as they see them! My recollection on the Pro9000 was that the red and green was only used with the highest quality media settings - my recollection being there were only two of them, and even then very sparingly. R and G cartridges lasted for...

OK here it is! It works!

My understanding is it does. Media setting primarily affects the amount of ink that is ejected from the nozzles during printing. There may be other subtle variations not immediately obvious but beneficial when using the stated grade of Canon paper. @mikling may be able to give a more accurate...

Fine Art Ink Jet Printing book

This is a wide ranging and sometimes contradictory post, but I think I get the gist of the Hat's points. First three para's inferring new users have no clue how to use inkjet printers has not been my experience. All that is required after purchase is to switch it on and follow the instruction...

    Always this messy?

Well having had a pro9000 I would dispute that and have the test images to prove it. Swapping the green and red for two grey plus unknown advances in the technolgy probably account for the improvement but in my opinion they are visible. YMMV. rs

OK here it is! It works!

The sweet spot for the pro 100 is satin, lustre or gloss RC papers and there are lots out there for you to try. Honestly on these papers it is every bit as good as my Epson 3880. A printer that cost four times the pro 100 price. Baryta papers for the most part work well on the pro 100. If it...

    Roll Paper Question

This is North America. Better to patent it and charge licensees $10 a pop. I see that Apple has now patented a cardboard tray to hold pizza slices. I guess it will cost $5.00 per plis data contract. :)

BASICS of understanding Canon Carts and Long Term Storage

A good thought provoking post. In my opinion refilling and inkjet printing is a far more complex operation than the old world darkroom operations which were mainly monochrome. Colour inkjet printing is infinitely more complex.Especially as you have to contend with the conversion from additive...

Absolutely agree. Same mold as Andrew Rodney. Expert knowledge, opinionated, acerbic, doesn't suffer fools, and has the gift of being able to impart his knowledge to others. I have included a link to the second edition. I have both editions and the second is much improved and updated, but still...

    PC Ink Intensity -15

A lot can be said in favour of simple "plainspeak" and nonsnse is a plain description. This subject is somewhat complex and difficult to discuss objectively. Putzing around with political correctness and similar absurdities only makes it more obscure. It it walks like a duck and quacks like a...

    3D printed house in Copenhagen

Maybe the future is conventional outer structure with wiring utilities etc, and then inner divisions and walls 3D printed to owners preferences. Less need for weatherproof and structural integrity this way. Lots of business potential for the Nordic giants like Ikea and Lego to branch into new...
