Canon ip90 makes noises, blinks 2 colors and can't find software.

From what I read in the i70 SM I must replace the Print Unit QM2-0290. Nothing else is mentioned. I see there is a new one for $14 on ebay. Should I just buy that and install it or are their other things to try first? If it came to that I'd pay for one but is that the right thing? What do you think?

Canon ip90 makes noises, blinks 2 colors and can't find software.

Thank you for spending the time to help figure this out. I have downloaded the SM and will dig into this tomorrow. I love Electrotanya! I have seen Purge unit error mentioned a number of times for this series and that makes sense. I will check out that other post now. I am fixing this unit for...

Canon ip90 makes noises, blinks 2 colors and can't find software.

Sorry to take so long to reply. Ran into a problem that took me away. I misunderstood the blink pattern before. I now see that it is 4 blinks which means incorrectly installed ink tanks. They were sealed genuine Canon tanks which I installed properly. These tanks came with it when I got it at a...

Canon ip90 makes noises, blinks 2 colors and can't find software.

Hi I found this nifty ip90 that I would like to take on vacations. I installed new carts that have not dried out. When I turn it on and it is not plugged into the PC the green lights, 2 pages cycle through. There is a loud noise as if something is grinding but it could be something else. The...

Some HP 02 ink cartriges work, some don't

Hi This printer is getting on eight or ten years old now. The HP company does not provide any support because it is not made. They are still being sold by the biggest online stores though. I hope that my experience in solving the ink supply problem has saved a few of them. It has been two years...

One day color is spot on, the next it's not - why?

Hi A similar thing happened to me and it nearly drove me nuts before it went away on its own. It came back again months later and it only affected the 4x6 photos. It was my paper. Some had been stored after opening for a year or so. The ones near the top of the pile were worse. Ones left in the...

Some HP 02 ink cartriges work, some don't

Hi Here is the answer in case anyone runs into this in the future. This is a great printer and I would hate to see any of them trashed due to a silly problem. I too thought faulty chips and just sent them for replacement when they would not work. There was no problem with the new 40% larger...

    No Blues, at wits end!

Hi Yes. All true. I have a working HP Photosmart 8250 that is not an All in One and I will stay with that even though I cannot refill the inks. I intend to sell the officejet on Ebay for repair or parts starting at $25 plus cost of shipping next week. feedthestinkykitty

Some HP 02 ink cartriges work, some don't

HI No on both. They had years left on them. The printer does give you the override option on nearly empty ones but not in this case. I do not get the "nearly empty replace soon and press ok to continue ,empty, replace now , Wrong cartridge or any of the other messages. Just the one that says...

Some HP 02 ink cartriges work, some don't

Hi I am using a HP Photosmart 8250 that has given me good service so far. I would like to keep it. The problem is that 2 times within a week I have replaced empty inks with new HP inks from a multi pack and have gotten the Inks must be replaced message. Contact cleaning did not help. Then I...

    No Blues, at wits end!

Hi In the end I can do nothing with it. I cannot get anything past the feeding pins either. The plugged holes will let a small amount of air, water or ink be forced in or out through them but it makes no difference. The print head needs to be replaced and none are available for less than $58...

HP Photosmart 8250 print carridge jam...not???

Hi I got the print carriage jam...remove blockage and press OK message. No jam was visible. I remover the paper tray and found some paper specs in a roller. That seemed to fix it. It has happened again and I cannot find any blockage but I also cannot open the case. HP can make them a real puzzle...

    Unclogging Canon Printheads

I have often been able to clear clogs by putting 2 paper towels and just enough water to wet them well into a plastic bowl then microwaving this for 1 minute. I then set the print head on top of the paper towel and cover with another to keep heat in. Keep it there for 20 minutes then run a...

    No Blues, at wits end!

Thanks Websnail, If I understand you correctly that air problem is in the print head assembly which looks like it has some find of access holes on top with rubber plugs like fill holes but capped with a plastic ring and so not as accessible. Perhaps these are bleeders for that problem. Any...

Hi I have been lurking as a guest for a week or so and I finally decided to join the Forum and ask this question. I hope I can help some others also. I bought an HP Officejet Pro L7580 cheap hoping to get it going. This is one nice all in one.For anybody who does not know this model it has...
