I have bought a set of refillable carts from Inkjetcarts US, filled successfully using vacuum fill method and almost used up the first fill of ink.( Excellent results from InkjetFly V3 inkset) Now re -filling and having problems with not getting ink into the circular chamber in the cart. Is...
Search this forum or the Printers and printing forum at DPreview.com you will find methods which force the 1400 to use only the black ink for black/white printing.
I leave my 1400 turned on all the time, I use carts filled with OCP ink and the last time I did a check I had printed over 80 full colour A4 from a set of carts. Fade resistance? Dye ink will fade, how fast depends on a number of factors, just search this forum. For far greater longevity use...
To back up the previous poster, LIDL Office Depot glossy A4 at 4.99 for 50 sheets gives excellent results on my Epson 1400 and using carts from internet-ink.co.uk which are filled with German brand OCP ink.
thanks Pharmacist, thats the information I was looking for, I did not know that the vivid inks were thicker and hence much more likely to cause problems on the R2400. Now what about a recommendation for a supplier of refillable cartridges for the R2400 - Inkjetcarts US any good? or...

Would appreciate advice on which make of empty R2400 cartridge to buy. Inkjetcarts.US : CoralGraph(EBay) : Inkjetfly.com : DYGUK(Ebay shop) : Cityinkexpress.UK : Inkjetmall : Chubs380(ebay shop Precision colors). Has anyone been using any of these suppliers or indeed any others, and have...
just printed out an A3 using Epson semigloss paper profile on the R2400 wow, almost spot on. Now I shall go and create a profile for the satin paper and try again. this paper is a gem of a find.
Many thanks also to Lothman for pointing out the existence of an excellent cheap paper. I have now tried both the glossy and satin finish on my Epson 1400, prefer the satin finish and also this paper feels a heavier weight than the glossy although both state 240g/m2. Only downside is the...
For information, Promax Imaging here in the UK are selling OCP inks in small quantities, 100ml or 250ml bottles. I have just had a quote from Leanne at Promax Imaging, for a complete set of 9 100ml pigment inks for the R2400 costing around 35 inc postage and a set of 250ml bottles at 87 inc...
Hi Pharmacist, have put a couple of OCP dye prints from the 1400 on a south facing window of our summerhouse to see if they fade over the winter. Will report back on this test next year.Hopefully there will be some sunlight here in Scotland over the coming year!

Thanks Irv, yes OCP lists pigment ink for the R2400 - and for the other Epson pigment printers, the question is, has anyone used these inks and been impressed with the results? Here in the UK, OCP in small quantities not easy to buy, only one firm selling compatible cartridges filled with OCP...
Has anyone on the forum used OCP pigment ink in their Epson printers? I have been using their dye based inks in an Epson 1400 with excellent results but would like to know how their pigment ink performs in relation to the Epson original ink. I also have a Epson R2400, just waiting for...
