    Unclogging Canon Printheads

    I will echo the not turning off advice, my MP500 is 5 years old now and has been on all of that time....never a problem. Photo printed over 1500 CDs, 100s of photos and perhaps 10000-15000 pages. Same print head, original cartridges refilled for the last 5 years, no waste ink absorber message...

    Thanks....In fact I am pretty sure the black I use is dye based in both cartridges, so this may be another reason for no problems, as I assume the pigment based inks are slightly more prone to clogging. It may be the kiss of death, but I have just bought the Squeasyfill system from Octoinkjet...
