OCP K3 ink set: the secret/solution is in the ...magenta !!!

I was forced to eliminate ocp inks from my printers, two of them. Both have problems with yellow and matte black inkflow after printing a few meters of heavy colored images. In my 9900 i was even forced to replace the dampers.

OCP K3 ink set: the secret/solution is in the ...magenta !!!

Magenta is from octopous. I know i had to use k3 hdr inks. I was thinking that it can't be much difference, my mistake, it is. Wait a minute, I don't blame ocp or octopous for ink ink quality. It is all my fault. I tried and not succed, that's all. I was just tring to give some info for others...

OCP K3 ink set: the secret/solution is in the ...magenta !!!

Yes, i know. Test prints are ok, prety much like an offset press. A good one. It is not the gamut that draws me back. It is the fact that yellow (less), black and magenta (more) are droping a lot of nozzles while printing. 1 square meter of print and i loose 25-30% of nozzles. After every print...

OCP K3 ink set: the secret/solution is in the ...magenta !!!

No need to be sarcastic. I was expecting this, but with such a big margin, no. On 180 matte coated paper (no matte photo) i have 500000 vs 900000 cubic units. That's a BIG difference. And the biggest surprise is that my roland ecosolvent printer is better on colors than waterbased epson. With...

OCP K3 ink set: the secret/solution is in the ...magenta !!!

I'm using ocp ink in combination with octopus magenta. Printer is Epson 9700 pro. Maybe the nozzles are to thin for ocp inks. Prints are ok, good colors, but gamut is way smaler than inktek dyes. Almost half. For 180g matte coated paper i have about 550000 cubic units for pigment, and nearly...

Cone Ink releases "dye" ink for Epson "pigment" printers

I have a stylus 9700 printer with inktec dyes. It is a 4 color printer but i have a huge gamut of over 900000 units on photo paper. It prints on every media i want. On microporos paper the prints are even waterproof. Downside is that the prints fades in about 2 weeks when exposed to light, even...

OCP K3 ink set: the secret/solution is in the ...magenta !!!

I have ordered the OCP inks before your findigs about magenta. All i can say is that deep blues and purples are are weak with the original OCP configuration, thanx for the octopus magenta tip. But i have other issue. I print on Natura microporos semigloss paper ( made in germany ???) and i have...

i am back with my mistery: how come that black ink is ok and all other (CMY) inks are not? it is true that original inks where CMY = dye and K = pigment. but can the printer shoot the droplets different on different type of ink? there is no option in any menu to specify the type of ink. and yes...

    semigloss paper for pigment ink

thanx for answers. today i made a few more tests and i discover that black ink is ok, adhere well to a lustre paper. but no luck with CMY. since the original ink in the printer was dye, i'm shure i can safely use dye. i'm using the printer for CAD drawings, but also for paper posters. is the dye...
