What is causing this dark bar alongside the print!?

Don't think it's a plot, unless little green men are also in on it :p anyway keep us posted on your results!

Hp reset method, have you heard or tried this?

The weirdest thing that happened to me a couple of times, it's the following: When ever I print a lot of pages, the ink light will light up (not flashing). I take the cartridge out, fill it with a few cc's of ink and then place it back. The ink light has gone out and it will continue to print as...

What is causing this dark bar alongside the print!?

Have more Epson-Snow Leopard users experience this? I think there has to be some malfunction in the communication between printer and computer, so have you tried a new data (usb) cable? Is your printer old? My HP5150 in windows 7 will, sometimes, spew out garbled random pixels when I wait to...

Stainless Screw & O-Ring Seal Leak - Cross contamination - PICS

I think you chose the right words there. I'm no expert on bacteria and/or fungus but it looks to me that bacteria had a lunch party in your cartrigde. This could have produced gas (I assume the cart with the O-ring was 'air tight') which tore the O-ring apart as the amount of CO2 increased...

Hp reset method, have you heard or tried this?

Thanks for your input thusfar, althought I'm wondering if I'm the only on this forum who is using a HP 5150. I know it's an old printer but there has to be someone on this forum that also uses the HP 5150. Meanwhile, I found this method of resetting HP carts: Another possible method I heard of...

Hp reset method, have you heard or tried this?

Hey Forum, thanks for replying to this post. Because of the fact it works for more than one person, I decided to try this method for my self but I'm not sure whether it worked for me or not. Because it was the strangest thing, before the ink button on the printer kept blinking preventing me to...

Hp reset method, have you heard or tried this?

But RMM, have you ever heard or tried "the three cartridge" method?

Hp reset method, have you heard or tried this?

Hi forum, i've bought a hp 5150 and i run windows 7. And the black cart is preventing the printer to print and I was wondering if anyone knows about this method and has tried it: Three Cartridge Method On some models the above procedure won't work, and you'll have to fool the printer by...

Alcohol & Printheads... what do you think?

So the advice is what? Print and 'clean' with moderation? I reckon an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure (if you do not mind letting go the metric system for a moment there ;) ). BTW I think we are forgetting the question being asked here Is it because of the inks? I don't know...

    Successful clean

Sounds interesting, i'll try this mix when I suffer from clogs. Thanks for the recipe!

Alcohol & Printheads... what do you think?

I'm on the level. I never knew this worked either but i just tried it once in moderate ratios of ink A:ink B 2:8 and work my way down to 1:1 mix of the 2 inks. Adding windex is something I only do to prevent clogs and clean a bit. Dye or pigment? Ink A smells like solvent when I print with pure...

Alcohol & Printheads... what do you think?

I'm sorry I was not complete when I wrote my message. I use Canon compabitle ink mixed 1:1 with universal ink. Recipe for clogs I know, but it works for me. If we call this mixed ink, formula A than mix formula A with windex in the prementioned parts (5 parts windex, 95 parts formula A). Good...

Alcohol & Printheads... what do you think?

I use a 5% alcohol solution in demineralized water to clean. However when i use ink and i think the ink mix might cause clogs I use a 5-10% windex solution in ink. 5-10 parts windex in 95-90 parts ink resp. Good luck!

    Interesting average on replies

I reckon that if even 1 person can find the information they need to solve their printer problems, I think it's worth it. Bummer if you're question doesn't get answered. Maybe you should keep posting in the question (of course within forum limits or something, I don't know if that is allowed.)...

How many times can ink cartridges be refilled?

I've had 10 refills, no purges and service time of 1 year. And suddenly my pg-512 cart (canon pixma 270 FYI) suddenly quit on me. Probably because I was experimenting too much with reclaimed waste water. XD Anyway I'm also interested how many refills people get out of their carts.

Nozzle cleaning needed after printer is idle overnight

Dear Ryan, i've have the same problem and I found that adding windex (~10% solution in ink) helps to keep everything soluble. Even after a couple of days, although I print everyday, even when I don't need to print just to keep the ink flowing. You CAN try this but it is at own risk. My nozzles...

i865 Print Head Dead or Dirty?

Hi Raymond, looks like an inkflow problems to me. What I was wondering have you tried a cleaning cartridge (a cartridge with cleaning solution)? Of have you tried new cartridges? They are expensive I know but a lot cheaper than a new printhead. :( I've read around (on other fora, sorry guys)...

Cleaning in General. Clogged Print Heads!

Dear Troubadour, I see you are new to this forum, welcome! I don't think it is fair the repost your same question under different topic names. It tends to clog the forum. :/ To answer your question: I read you intend to do a couple of hundred refills a week? would it not better/easier to get...

Mixing inks ( like with like)

Your first reaction is on the money. I'm also in the ink mixing business and people in general tend not to like this and with good reason. I have a canon mp250 so if my nozzle clogges I don't really care and chuck out the cart and insert a new one. (Nozzle is in the cart). If your...
