I'm guessing the head just died from natural causes. I didnt do anything to the head like clean it or install it while it was wet. Just simply the printer did not turn on.
is ebay the best place to hunt for heads?
Hey Ron350,
They turn on fine without the head. Could I have done permanent damage to my printer testing out that bad head? What should I NOT do?
Thanks for the quick reply!
Looks like I need to hunt down a new head.
Hey All!
Can a bad printer head prevent the power from turning on my IP4500?
I tested it since I have 2 printers. I took the suspected bad head and stuck it into another printer. Once the head is in and inks are loaded. the power fails to turn on. Can someone confirm that a bad printer head...
Just got this in the mail today! I need it for work so I just ordered it. For the price of a fresh set of bats and the price of gas - 12 bucks is a no brainer - it was on sale. regularly $22
PeterBJ - I'm not really too familiar with a multimeter but I do have one. Can you tell me how to test...
This is the one I have. Ive had it for a few years and resetted maybe almost 100+ carts with it. This is the second time changing the battery. I've notice though over the last year maybe, that its become more sensitive in resetting carts. Meaning I had to wiggle the cart more I'm guessing, so...
Just tonight Ive been trying to reset the chips on my cart and the light is no longer flashing. I put in new bats but still nothing. Is it time for a new resetter?
Is there a new resetter you guys recomend for the PGI and CLI carts?
Thanks a bunch for your help!
Ive been trying to clear this cyan clog, I think its a clog, but after doing some reading - this might be an electrical problem?
Is it time to replace the print head? Ive soaked the head a couple days in windex...no improvements on cyan.
Thanks Trigger for the information on the heads from Canon. Saving that for future fix!
I'm going to do a little investigation on some printers and probably hit you up to see how you like them. Is there one that you can say is comparable to the 4500? I see you have some experience with a few...
Thanks Hat! Ive been looking through ebay and there are a few people selling new heads for around 100USD. I might have to bite the bullet and buy a pair when mine dies.
What new inkjet do you like that can be refilled?
Hey All!
Ive been printing on 2 canon ip4500s for a few years now and dont want to wait when the time comes and they die one me. I havent looked at any new printers but wondering if there have been any new ones that match the ip4500 performance.
Ive been scanning my local CL adds for used...
lol i get why you said mice or lice now HAHAH
Nothing ate the sponge...its color white and just didnt photograph well.
Okay, glad to hear its happened to some people. Seems to be working fine now.
One more question. If this happened again, is the head pretty much gone?
New printer? heck no! LOL!
I just purged the cart and refilled it....its working like a champ again.
I wonder if i over heated the head and the ink cooked? I'm printing another 100 pages as I type and no problems yet...
Cant seem to figure out why my yellow cart did this. Although the night before I probably printed about 100 pages of glossy but only about 10% of the page being colored.
Any ideas?
Experts quick question....
I'm going to try to refill my wife's inkjet (brothers) at her work. It use only one black cartridge. I have supply for Hobbicolors ink at home that i use to refill my ip4500s. Which black should I use? the regular black (UW8-Bk) or the pigment black (PMT-BK)
Demi,
I'm actually sorta in the same line of business. We print labels on A4 and cut them to size for water bottles. Ive seen the Primera LX400 in action at some conventions and the quality was decent - probably comparable to the printers we are using - canon IP4500. The only thing I didn't...
okay i'm going to try to clean it again this weekend. couple questions... after a blow windex through the ports, should i then follow it up with clean water or should windex be the last step before i let it dry for a couple days?
The magenta around the black is concerning i hope its related to...
