i figured i would post an update to this thread, so a while back through my job i got a free broken printer, which was an easy 5 minute fix, anyway i get it home and get it fixed and start printing and the prints are coming out okay i was using default settings and printing from linux, however...

Irfanview and I have also tried the default windows picture viewer, I have tried to print from gimp but for whatever reason it will not print to my printer and I cannot figure out why as for paper its matte legal and I have the toner is what came with it
