After all the PRO-1 is just an oversophisticated A3+ printer.
The day my PRO-10 (and the spare one and a new printhead in the box...) fails I would consider an Epson ET-8550.
Too late now for the PRO-10 route I think.
Yes, the original Colormunki still works perfectly on WIN10/11.
Sadly since last month the software isn't downloadable anymore from Xrite (Photo, later called i1Studio), officially you should now buy a license from Calibrite (Profiler 3, about 50-60 $/€).
So try to find one with the install disk...
Most probably the claimed reduction in head cleanings (and ink consumption) is simply because they exagerated in previous models, and experienced the printhead introduced with the PRO-10 almost never clogs.
So it's easy to say "...while working to prevent print waste due to banding" . This...
One of the reasons I switched to Canon large format (pigment) inks to refill my PRO-10 was the scratch resistance.
In particular 3th party PBK did not adhere on glossy papers. I've even seen GY from a German supplier you could blow away from the paper.
With the Canon ink I print on every kind of...
Nozzle switching on larger format printers (from PRO-1000 on) seems to be based on reserve nozzles.
I wonder how it is done on the PRO-310, since this printhead is not originally designed for.
PS: seems it is done in software:
>For efficiency, a nozzle recovery system works to help ensure that...

Chroma Optimiser was introduced by Canon on the PRO-10. This removed most of the objections against pigment ink on glossy papers, PRO 300/310 did not add anything at this point.
As a long time PRO-10 user, I would seriously consider the Epson ET-8550 if I had to start over. PRO 300/310 no way.
Congrats, I never had lasting success with the Durchstich Method and dumped all sponge filled carts and fast fading 3th party dye inks - and the printers - long ago.
Only use cartridges with a bag and (mostly Canon) pigment inks (about 10 times your price/cart but still one fifth of new ones).
Refilling the cartridges with GI-56 is the best of both worlds.
I have no issues at all since, what I couldn't say of other refill inks I've tried on the Maxify.
Seems the quality isn't the same as the cartridge ink but it isn't what I need.
I bought from E-parts and C1-supplies in the past at very reasonable prices.
But since PRO-100/200 PRO/10/300/310 printheads seldom fail before the printer itself, Canon should have ample supplies.
Very strange...
I know the day the Russians, Chinese, Americans or whoever invade my country I could be arrested for insubordination :)
But not before the ones - who probably mean what they say - on Facebook, X and the like.
Adobe already adopted this policy (although I am not very impressed by their AI generations - the stock lost 30% over a year).
The disappearance of the legacy software on X-Rite and Calibrate sites is a concertated action (where Keith Cooper warned for), but I doubt calibrate will push it so...
This is another discussion, personally I am not so paranoiac .
I would only mention that:
a) the last Colormunki software from X-Rite still works on the latest WIN version,
b) for those who are even more confident than myself, a rather moderate upgrade cost liberates them from archiving...
The upgrade for older hardware costs € 69.90 and you can get a 20% from Keith Cooper (before Oct 15).
I downloaded Profiler3, it detects the Colormunki, but in demo mode it stops after the first pattern print.
So I couldn't check if it contains enhancements.
I doubt about it (Keith too).
FYI...
