Coming here from asking a question in the Epson forum…
It’s time to say goodbye to my beloved Canon iP4300 printer. The head has severe cross-color contamination issues, and it’s gotten to the point that the output, even in plain black, just doesn’t look good any longer. I do like the printer...
It’s time to say goodbye to my beloved Canon iP4300 printer. The head has severe cross-color contamination issues, and it’s gotten to the point that the output, even in plain black, just doesn’t look good any longer. I do like the printer, and so I’ve been scouring local second hand stores for...
A year or so ago I found a NIB IP4300 on Craigslist for a bargain price. It was in fact new and unused, and over the time I've had it have printed about 2000 pages.
In the last month it's started displaying the dreaded signs of a delaminated print head: the cyan and magenta are getting...
Back in November I mentioned that I was looking for photo papers and preferred those which had lower amounts of OBAs. I'd seen the various tests and opinions from archival printing experts and was worried that the evil OBAs would ruin my photos in a few short years — perhaps even in months...
Aside from the Costco/Mitsubishi paper, what good quality "house brand" photo papers are available at retail in the U.S.? I keep seeing threads about all the wonderful papers at the various European retailers and find it hard to believe we don't have something similar. We are, after all, a...
It's been a long while since Canon USA has offered one of their insanely cheap paper deals. I recall with fondness the "Buy 1 Get 9 (or 7 or 5) Free" with free shipping that seemed to happen every other month.
If this deal drought continues, at some point I might — horror of horrors — be forced...
Searched and didn't find any discussion on this...
I've got a stock of Canon gloss paper (the PP-301, which I prefer to the Platinum line because it doesn't have quite the level of OBAs). I acquired many packages during the famous "buy one, get 5/7/9 FREE" deals in the last couple of years...
Can someone with a Canon MX850 measure the dimensions for me *with all paper trays in the closed position*?
CanonUSA says the dimensions are 20.0" x 19.0" x 10.2", but doesn't state whether that's with the trays open or closed. I need to find the absolute minimum dimensions to know if one will...
Just got my Pro-10 this week (took advantage of the deal!) At the same time I found and bought a bunch of empty PGI-72 cartridges from eBay, so that I could have a spare set to refill with the new PC Signature inks.
I just noticed, however, that they're all marked "EU Only". I live in the U.S...
After a four-month test of PC inks vs Canon OEM inks in my display conditions, it's pretty clear that if I want prints that will last I need to stick with the OEM ink/paper combination. This is not a shock. however, I'd really like to be able to print much more than I do and the cost becomes...
Having become a fan of refilling the carts on my ix6520, and soon will be refilling those on my recently acquired ip4300, I'm now turning a jaundiced eye to how much I'm spending to feed my Pro-100.
I like the Chromalife 100+ ink/Canon paper combination for their ability to stand up under...
Here's a question for people to chew on and would help relative Canon newbies like me: what Canon printer models, past or present, represent the best the company has made?
Let's hear your favorite(s) in any or all of these categories:
- General text/graphics printers (typical home office use...
Up until now the only Canon cart cartridges I've refilled are for my ix6520, using the pre-prepped OEM carts from Precision Colors (which work great!) I've also used some generic (new) carts on other printers. I'm used to dealing with syringes and ink spills.
Now with this ip4300 (and it is NEW...
Allow me to explain!
I found this forum while researching ink options for my Canon Pro-100 printer AND while trying to find a cure for my clog-O-matic HP x551dw.
I ended up deciding to stick with OEM ink in the Pro-100, largely because of display longevity requirements. I also decided to junk...
