Well that's where we differ. That statement may be true from a USA perspective, and that of a couple of other countries, but not so for the rest of the world - and is why the metric system is referred to as Système International. My suggestion responds to crenedecotret's call for comments...

Without checking the code, I'm guessing that paper sizes are not hard coded but are being pulled from printer properties? - because I'm seeing a bunch of options including A paper sizes in the properties box next to the printer name so I'm guessing that the paper sizes are already being served...
