Rear paper feed, multiple pages? ET-8550

Yeah, it doesn't make sense, does it? I don't know what paper size could have anything to do with how many will stack in a feeder. I would have thought thickness could be a factor.

Discussion on linux support for the epson sc-P900, drivers, print quality

Epson claims that they provide Linux drivers for their printers. Search for Linux on their printer home page. They do not support those drivers, but if the drivers work, support shouldn't be necessary. I have seen some opinions that they work well. I have also seen claims that the driver was...

Rear paper feed, multiple pages? ET-8550

I see me PRO-100 only accepts 1 sheet at a time. 5 sheets seems like a no-brainer. OK, plan A it is. Thanks for the comments. This is why I asked. :)

Urk. Thanks, guys. It doesn't sound great.

Need a new printer PDQ. Print on CDs? Linux? Any good?

Too many questions, I guess. Choosing printers is daunting. I think I have spent some days reading printer specs. and specifications. This shouldn't be so hard. For what it's worth, here are some kind of general answers I have found for myself. *Most of the Epson printers supposedly support...

Rear paper feed, multiple pages? ET-8550

I just ordered an ET-8550. I want to print about 10 to 20 calendars on it. I need to find out about paper handling, so I can begin to plan formats and order the paper. I haven't decided yet between 11"x17" or 13"x19" (A3+) paper, or between single-sided or double-sided paper, so I want to...

Need a new printer PDQ. Print on CDs? Linux? Any good?

My last HP C309a all-in-one Photosmart is getting very creaky, so it's time for a new printer. I need a color printer for moderate duty, for office printing, scanning, copying, and photo printing. It has to be reliable and refillable. Only rare paper jams, and no sudden clogs that can't be...

Air in the ink supply of Ecotank printers

How does air get into the dampers? Here is one possibility. Air is more soluble in cold water than in warm water. If you store your ink in the refrigerator, the air will come out (very slowly!) when it warms up. Just a thought, in case that helps.

    Source of yellow dye ink?

Thanks. I thought I remembered checking, but I'm embarrassed that I didn't see it.

Thanks for the upside-down fire tip

In the Nifty-Stuff.com forum, Nifty told us about how to build a fire by stacking the wood upside down. I've been using it ever since, with great results. I have shown it to one or two people, and one of them recently confirmed great success. So, thanks to Nifty for that article and many...

    Source of yellow dye ink?

I'm sort of desperately looking for a replacement for OCP 143Y or equivalent for my HP564 cartridges (HP Photosmart Premium C309a and other printers). I would gladly settle for Aspen Y-143, or Inktec, or whatever. I would prefer 1/2 to 1 liter size, but I can't afford to be picky, because my...

HP OEM vs. non-OEM cartidges - a (paid) report

Hmmm. But are those ink tank printers any good for text? As far as I know, none of them even has a pigment black, so all your text is water-soluble. And some reports I have read suggest that maybe they aren't even very good at photos. (Don't anyone quote this, because this is completely...

HP OEM vs. non-OEM cartidges - a (paid) report

Hmmm. The test was paid for by HP. It doesn't mean that refill materials that you purchase of good quality will produce defective results. I wouldn't want to generalize from that study. I haven't encountered any of those problems, but I have saved thousands of dollars by refilling, although...

A possible reason for air bubbles

That's a possibility, but I think it usually takes quite a bit of heat to nucleate bubbles in reasonable time. As you say, you might have to get it just below the boiling point. I would worry about ink stability and losing other volatiles. I have to say that I've never tried degasing liquid...

A possible reason for air bubbles

I suspect that the method of storage of ink may affect the presence of bubbles in supply lines. Air is more soluble in cold liquid than at room temperature. If you refrigerate your ink, it will gradually dissolve more air, which will very likely come out very slowly in the form of bubbles...

R-JetTek going out of business on Dec. 27. Big sale!

The proprietor of R-JetTek is retiring, so they are going out of business on Wednesday. (I'm not sure if that's the last day or the day after the last day.) I just placed an order, and they shipped it minutes later. They're also offering a 70% discount. If you use their ink, this would be an...

    Ink for HP 564 Photosmart?

I may be able to save you all the trouble of replying. I just placed an order with R-JetTek. They tell me OCP went out of business, but they sell Aspen Ink, which is made by the same guy. The order was in the nick of time, as R-JetTek is going out of business on Wednesday (Mike is retiring)...

    Ink for HP 564 Photosmart?

Hi, guys. Good to see you are still here. Some of you will remember that I used to post here some years ago. I am in need of ink, and my usual supply seems to have dried up. My most immediate need is pigment black, since I'm completely out of it, but I'll also need other colors. I have a HP...

    Oh-oh. CD printer?

I'm not sure what you mean by that, Hat. I just happened to stop by and I saw your post. For what it's worth, the demo HP is still going strong, sort of. Even the wi-fi still works (first one yet out of three that I've had!). The sheet feeder has always been anemic because the roller doesn't...

Best inks for Canon Pixma Pro 10S

I do have experience with InkTec, and I wouldn't discount it on the basis of price. I have used InkTec dye ink, and I tested four brands of dye ink for light fading. It's good ink -- as good as any third-party ink I tested. As far as I know, they put a good bit of engineering into it...
