Warning! This reaction is not for the faint of heart.
No I did not asked about printing profiles with Qimage. I ask if the maker of the profile.tif has edited the tiff with Qimage! And if you read the threat a bit better. You also read that I in a previous post in this thread acpu mentioned...
Yes i know all these articles. I'm walk already a long time in the printer world.
The real problem back then was; that suddenly no body could make a 'good' profile any more! becouse adobe decided that printing without colormanagement was equal as printing with srgb! so all the profiles made...
@pharmacist As mentioned in a previous reply. I had the spyderprint back in 2007 way before Adobe changed the world of profiling! :)
Now i own the xrite i1 Studio (colormunki) for years. After the first original colormunki broke its usb port. Still waiting to repair 🤔
And for a month now the...
You're right but i'm mention using spiderprint in 2007 when the canon ipf-5100 was introduced! ;)
And it was in service until 2020 it was died at loneliness during covid. And after my wife's death. (not covid related).
Then you could make reasonable good affordable profiles with spyderprint...
I’ll try to explain :)
You’re by ArgyllCMS created 875-target.tif is normally without any text. Yours have text on it where we can write extra meta data about the target. It looks like you have a template where you paste the target in.
The removal of the 'print without colormanagment' by...
Yes @pharmacist i’m also like 3D printers.
I don’t know if you already own a new 3d-printers?
But here is my 50 pence advice :)
I’m a long time 3d-printer enthusiast. Started 10 years ago with a cheap Chinese prusa like bed slinger. Most of the time you’re busy to keep the printer in shape...
@pharmacist ,
In your profile documentation you mentioned that you recommend Qimage for printing. Did you also use Qimage for the extra human readable text? if no or yes how did you add the text? :)
And how do you prevent that the photo not get tagged with a color-space?
to all who know the...
Hello all,
I was searching for tips and useful information about printing on Linux and making my own printer profiles for printing on Linux.
So after finding this forum. I found a ton of useful information and tips.
Hello Graeme,
The first one is just the message that the default scanner is the gretag… and it found a i1pro2. Nothing to worry about.
The second one solved itself. I was to hasty and started the measurement to soon and ended to soon. On my Linux machine I don’t get the audible sign. Now I...
Yes i know.
The only thing you create is a tone curve you have to apply as last step in your photo editing process.
When bought my epson p900 a few years ago. (When my Canon iPF 5100 printer died. ) i had the change to go to qtr-rip for my 'antieke foto' with printed A4 and bigger negatives to...
I did’t read your first post good enough.
By my knowledge is ABW a printer profile less driver. And profile less! Epson calculate from the picture and there knowledge of their proprietary inks. The right print. According of Keith is The b&w print made with abw very good! But when you do not...
I saw yesterday a oldish YouTube video made by printer guru Keith Cooper. And he says bw does not need and shall not use black point compensation. That’s why b&w profiles are linearized.
I hope this is the right video.
Also linearizing is a special function in qtr. and produce table that you...
Hello,
On my Linux system (Fedora 42 kde) i installed the latest fixes. Stupid me! Always first do your important work! Then the risky things.
But long story short.
Chartread does not work properly any more! It seems to work. But every row comes with a big error in the line reading. (see...
Ja Nederlands. Hoewel de naam Cromberge volgens de historie van de naam het ergens uit België stamt. Maar toen waren we nog de lage landen in de 80 jarige oorlog 🤪
Hello,
I don’t know what your status is now? Already a long time after your post.
I’m in the same boat. Epson P900 and migrating from a Mac workflow to Linux. So from an almost perfect print environment to cowboy print land. 😊
I’m ended to buy TurboPrint and because the need and will to print...
Hello Fixed my problem. i was to quick. I read at some other place that i have to wait 2-3 seconds after push the button. And also wait 2-3 seconds after the line read is finished. And probable even slower moving the reader. even slower than de colormunki.
So now waiting for my printer...
Hello all,
Almost a year later since the last post in this thread.
And i also run into a strange problem with profile making with the i1 pro2 and Argyll.
It seems to relate with the separators?
I can make my own target and print it. (just a test one).
But when i try to read the printed sheet...
