You know, the old trick of telling the printer, yes, it's OK to continue, I understand the risks and all that. It then takes the ink monitoring out of the way.
Does the PRO-100 have that feature? I couldn't find anything in the online manual.
Indeed, Joe, that's how I got started on this. Also a 5 piece sample pack of the Warm Baryta. Got them from Adorama at an attractive price, I think at about what you found.
While I found the samples of things like rag, metallic, and baryta interesting, the others were pretty much routine...
Well, FYI if you were pondering Inkpress Warm Baryta in 13x19" sizes. Two days ago Adorama had a box of 25 available for $43, free shipping. I went to buy today, not listed. "No longer available." I went to B&H, same thing!
Still some out there on eBay and Amazon, but a heck of a lot more...
Ha ha ha! That got a big laugh out of me on this dark, rainy morning!
Now that we all are inundated with images everywhere due to ease, lack of cost, and lack of discrimination, there's been a huge loss of craft. "My new $1000 auto-everything DSLR says 'I'm a photographer!' I'm a budding...
Just a generalization from reading Wilhelm and Aardenburg (??) tests. OK, (I'm sorta making this up for explanation,) so the HP dye inks are only good for 90 years and Epson pigments are good for more. But again, there's that concept of functional longetivity, will you want to look at that...
Don't know what you mean by "Just marketing." A new name for the BCI-6 inks? Maybe.
I do find it odd that HP has had dye inks out that last like pigment inks, give or take, for years. And yet Canon can't do the same?
The "opaque mask" I used was taking manilla folder stock and spray painting it black on both sides. Surely that's opaque to some very tiny percentage at worst. The difference between that and foil would be minimal to none, I'm sure.
Whether the reason for the better fade resistance is the...
Heck of a deal, there! I presume that the Staples product is simple coated paper vs. microporous photo for the Canon. Nothing wrong with that, if you understand the different intended uses.
I wrote a thread here not long ago about Royal Brites double sided matte. Wonderful, wonderful stuff...
Oops. I had the right number, .6. Just had the wrong measuring criteria. TNX for the correction. Now I'll probably remember it when I come down with Alzheimer's. Or maybe it will just be worse than the present?
Mike, I really feel sorry for you. Unless you are getting enough quality international customers to offset these jerks, don't do it. I cross my fingers when I send something to or from even Canada. Not dishonesty, just a couple more layers to deal with with the border and hand-offs.
One time...
Yeah, I've had FedEx screw up royally twice. Major business cluster because we relied on their ads back then, "When it absolutely, positively, has to be there overnight." A long time ago.
But I've also worked for UPS and have had packages stolen.
Stuff happens, but when one is dealing with...
Ah, OK. Thanks for that information. Are you selling the others? Or, one other set anywhere? Or, are you in a related business? I saw "Print Department Head" in your bio, but that could mean a lot of things.
It's an "Add on" bargain. Spend $35 - which usually gets you free shipping anyway - and you can get a box or any number of them, of Canon's base matte paper, 50 sheets, for $4.44. Less than half of the Canon price.
I've just run a heck of a lot of prints on it that I will use them to show...
I think they were identical. I think Canon is pretty smart in attaining such consistency.
In fact as the years go by, and I better understand a lot of things inkjet, I'm just totally amazed how "they" do this whole technology. As one example among many, I can print on a huge range of papers...
Thanks, Grazer. Just I got notice of yourresponse, I got one from someone named Penco. He/she said the minimum order was 10, as on the webpage. I told him/her of your experience.
