Need Help For My Mp540 Printhead.

Hello all! I need some help with my good old MP540. I've been refilling for quite a while now using the "german" method, but lately I did not use the printer a lot, and I think that the printhead got clogged. I ran through a couple of cleaning cycles, but did not get good results. Then I tried...

Green cast on 4th refill CLI-521 on iP4700

Thanks for the explanation. I had a look at the inks I'm using (bought from Octoinkjet.uk) and I noticed that the Cyan and yellow inks have a CLI reference, but that the magenta ink is the same for the CLI-8 and the CLI-521 carts. That's what on the website anyway. Is it possible that the...

Green cast on 4th refill CLI-521 on iP4700

I'm having a very similar problem with my MP540, oem canon ink tanks and image specialist inks. I purged the tanks, but still I cannot get close to a correct colour balance. :(

    Strange problem with MP540...

Well, thank you very much for your help. Actually, I did something stupid...I opened the head to see whether the problem was inside...and well, it wasn't; no contamination whatsoever, so you were probably right: I probably accidentally put some blue ink in the black tank (I'm quite floored I...

    Strange problem with MP540...

No problem ;) Well, i don't think so, but one can never be 100% sure. The thing is, I cleaned the "black" cart, let it dry, and put some fresh dye black ink into it, then I cleaned the printhead thoroughly using windex, put it all back in the printer (after letting it dry, of course), and I also...

    Strange problem with MP540...

    Yep, I did. Why?

    Strange problem with MP540...

Anyone? EDIT: Today, I decided to flush the dye black cart, and I discovered something really odd: the screen where the black cart sits is blue! And when I put some tap water on the outlet of the cart, a lot of dark blue/black ink came out! That's maybe why my pics all had that blue haze on...

    Strange problem with MP540...

Hmm, what can make this happen? The black cart was one I bought recently because I thought there was something wrong with it. Well, I see ink on the sponge, but it does not come out as it should I guess.

    Strange problem with MP540...

All carts have been filled, so there should be enough ink coming to the heads, no? However, I noticed that the photo black is the only one that, when pressed, doesn't show some ink on the sponge. What else can I do?

    Strange problem with MP540...

Hi there! I've been refilling my MP540 original Canon tanks with Image Specialists inks from OctoInkjet and had no problem until recently. Well, actually there was a slight problem: a green cast on my pictures. The problem seem to have been a wrong batch of magenta inks, and Websnail sent me a...

German "Durchstich" refill method for the PGI-520/CLI-521 cartridges

Thank you very much for your effort! I'll be glad to report back when the magenta ink arrives. Also, I would like to buy some pigment black ink and empty carts, so if you send me the magenta ink, you can send the rest at the same time ;) I'll do the transaction now and pay with paypal, so that...

German "Durchstich" refill method for the PGI-520/CLI-521 cartridges

Thank you very much! I am reassured to know this, as I was struggling to get correct colours, and finally I have been thinking that those inks simply are not that great and that if I wanted correct colours, I needed to buy original Canon tanks. Thanks goodness, it's only a wrong batch :p I'll...

German "Durchstich" refill method for the PGI-520/CLI-521 cartridges

@websnail: Hi! I bought a set of CLI-221 inks for my Pixma MP540 several months ago, and while the inks worked quite well, I must say that I bought two new ink tanks (cyan and magenta) and have been refilling them only recently. Now, the colors went off, having a greenish tint. Then I had the...

Canon 521 refilled carts get empty fast!

Thanks for your messages! And yes, the cause may be that I did not refill the cart completely...at least it seemed to be full, but maybe I put it back into the printer too fast, and did not wait until the sponge got saturated.

Canon 521 refilled carts get empty fast!

Hi there! Thanks to some people's help out there, I finally started refilling my oem Canon carts, and while everything is working fine, I am wondering... Is it possible that the inks I am using now (inks from Image Specialists) are running low faster than the original Canon inks, or am I just...

German "Durchstich" refill method for the PGI-520/CLI-521 cartridges

Thanks for your advice, guys! Unfortunately, I'll have to buy a new magenta OEM tank, as I do not have any other.

German "Durchstich" refill method for the PGI-520/CLI-521 cartridges

Ok! After loooong testing, I came to the conclusion that the magenta ink tank has a problem. Not sure what's going on, but when I put the carts in my old printer (IP3000), everything works fine with the cyan and the yellow, but when I put the magenta tank in the printer, I get the same problem...

German "Durchstich" refill method for the PGI-520/CLI-521 cartridges

OK... now things are going pretty bad for me :( I bought a new black dye oem cart, and while printing a black sheet seems ok and dark black, when I print a grey chart, all the grey shades seem to have a greenish tint! Do you think there is a problem with the printhead...

German "Durchstich" refill method for the PGI-520/CLI-521 cartridges

Hi. I am using a MP540 and Image Specialists inks, but I took the chip from a non-oem black cartridge, and installed it on a oem blue cartridge. The cart was washed thoroughly, but it seems there was some blue ink left.

German "Durchstich" refill method for the PGI-520/CLI-521 cartridges

Hi guys! I wanted to ask you something. I wanted to refill my OEM carts, and as I had no black cart (the small one), I just washed a blue one, and injected black ink in it. But I think there must have been some blue ink left, as now when I print, all my pics have a blue/green tint! Finally, I...
