Once in a while I get tempted to print stuff like that, but then I realize that either:
1) I have similar already around the garage that I'm not using, or
2) Stuff like this is readily available at the $1 store (or other super-cheap stores) that tend to be better quality injection molded clear...
It's crazy to me that prices have dropped so low for decent quality printers. These days almost anybody can get into the hobby at this price!
Here's another good review of the Aquila. The hoarder in me is really yelling at me to pick one up!
I'm tempted to get this crazy deal just for a spare printer. So cheap at $160 for what is basically and Ender 3 V2!
Great video of the printer and a good comparison of pros/cons to Ender 3 v2 at the end:
Once the magnetic sheet and PEI metal sheet arrive, I'll be curious for you to test the attraction difference between using the magnet config you have vs. the magnetic sheet. Keep us posted!
Currently printing: Strap Clip
I purchased a big roll of "webbing" strapping:
https://amzn.to/3tw5Wo2
I was honestly VERY surprised the roll was still in one nice circle in the bag. Not a single bit of clips, tape, wrapping, or anything.
Picking it up, I could tell it was BEGGING to unwind...
That's incredible! Thank you for sharing it!
I'm mostly frustrated I can't "react" to your post with a "LOVE" and "WOW" together! ;)
The render is beautiful and the print is awesome!
What are the rough dimensions? I see the coin for reference (smart!!) but still having a hard time wrapping my...
Interesting! I've been watching all the videos about IPA and so I've been using that... and it seems to work, but I'll keep an eye on it and use dish-soap if I run into problems getting things to stick.
Ya, I've seen lots of videos where they even use steel-wool! I pealed off the protective...
Yup, 100% what @Artur5 said:
Prusa comes with them attached (like this).
Adding magnets to another printer would be a nightmare
It won't be needed. Millions of people are using the metal flex plates with the supplied adhesive magnetic sheets without any problems with them lifting up.
Oh, and a fun side-note: I have the mag sheet from my CR-10 sitting next to my printer. I realized I can take the PEI flex-plate from my Ender3 and put it on the super cold magnetic sheet, and the cold sheet will QUICKLY suck the heat out of the flex metal PEI sheet.
Kinda fun to watch as the...
I've posted about this guy a few times, but wanted to make sure I had all the correct searchable words in the title so I could find it easy later :)
Teaching Tech is one of my FAVORITE channels for 3D printing:

I've been especially impressed with...
I'll bet you a beer you won't need any additional magnets! ;)
If you stick the magnet that comes with the kit to a properly clean / prepped bed, the metal flex-plat should grab on SUPER well to the magnet.
I look forward to hearing your experience!
Yup, I had the exact same problem with the same flex blue mag sheet.
From what I can tell, the "stick" between the steel plate and the mag sheet (that used 3M adhesive to stick to the bed) is way WAY stronger than the flex sheets. In fact, when I start laying the steel sheet down, once it gets...
I started my 3d Printing journey using blue painters tape on a bare metal bed.
I then converted to using gluestick on a cold glass bed: https://www.printerknowledge.com/threads/bed-adhesion-tricks-and-tips.12128/page-9#post-109242
This worked great for years. Biggest issue was getting really...
This kid's videos continue to surprise and impress me. She's better than 90% of the other youtubers out there. She clearly puts in a TON of prep, filming, and post-production / editing time and effort!
This is EXACTLY the video I've been wanting to see for potentially upgrading my CR-10 to a...
I've actually considered a dual-extruder a few times, but:
1: (similar to dual z screws) I don't have any issues that I'm trying to solve for that would justify doing the work / adding it.
2: I've heard too many mixed reviews and reactions about them to add one.
So, if I start having some...
LOL, you know how to speak to, and motivate my inner-geek!!! ;)
Sounds like a slippery slope, LOL!
So, this is a great comment that makes me wonder if I really "need" to go down any of these paths (octoprint, Klipper, etc.) since my printer is right next to my desk and seems to run (especially...
Octoprint is still something everyone seems to be suggesting, but I still haven't dabbled in it. I think I'm ready.
Problem is: Raspberry Pi boards are either unavailable or SUPER expensive (compared to where they used to be in price).
I'm still dinking around with the idea of converting an...
