Black BCI-6BK dye-based ink in the Black BCI-3eBK pigment-based cart

I put dye based black ink in the BCI-3EBK (pigmented) by mistake and did notice the the text that was printed on plain paper was fuzzy, the result of the lighter consistency of ink soaking into the paper more than the pigmented ink.

    Grommets on Canon printheads

Take the exit port and sand it with a very fine grade of sand paper (400 or 500 grit wet or dry) be careful to keep the port at 90 degrees to the sand paper, a few passes should be sufficient to make a better seal at the grommet.

    Grommets on Canon printheads

You should try changing cartridges to eliminate the ones that are leaking. That being said you might want to look into teflon tape, used to seal threads on pipes for compressed aire and plumbing. Wrap the outside of the outlet port and fold the tape over onto the lip, use enough tape to wrap...

    Spongeless cartrigdes epson

I just installed a set of MIS spongeless cartridges (T007 and T008) in my Epson 785 EPX. Had to run head cleaning around 5 times to get the ink to flow properly. The cartridges were just filled and not primed according to the instructions supplied by MIS. I am happy for the moment due to the...

    No Color printing needed

Just buy a chip resetter and reset the chip without refilling. You will probably ruin the color part of the print head by running your printer without ink in the color part of the cartridge.

Canon borderless prints on anything other than set paper sizes?

As far as I know Canon will only print boarderless on spcific size paper (standard size, e.g. 4x6, 8.5x11 or some of the A sizes). A6 size is not an option on Canon printers, it is a custom size and will not allow you to print boarderless if you use the custom setting.

a question of quality (Canon User)

If your printer uses a BCI-3ebk cartridge and it is larger than the color cartridges, then the black ink is supposed to be pigmented, the IMS inks sold by Cosco are dye based inks. You can use the ink to refill the color cartridges, but will get a color shift . I used dye based black ink in my...

    BCi6 & BCi3 Colours - Whats the Difference?

I've used BCI-3/6s on my Canon printers (S800, I950, iP4000 and i9900) without any problems. From what I gather Canon claims the shades are a little different. I haven't noticed any difference, however I've seen some posts where some people usint the BCI-3 as opposed to BCI-6 will get a...

URGENT!! Need advice on purchasing an inkjet printer

I would suggest a color laser printer, the prices have dropped since two or three years ago. You most likely won't have the fading or water proof problem with the label . The sharpness will surpass the inkjet due to the fact the ink/toner won't soak into the label. Staples has a Oki Color...
