A couple of Videos on using Adjustment Programs

Thanks Joe... I really enjoy your videos, keep up the good work! I dont know where you find the time/energy to do these, while taking/printing so many nice pictures. I'm thrilled when I find time to open Lightroom to post-process my stuff. I was wondering if you would be able to tell me where to...

    Printing on Watercolour Paper

fotofreak, I can think of two reasons.. the first being the cost. These papers are really inexpensive. The other one is archival properties (it's debatable). Some say that a paper with an inkjet receptive coating will not last as long as a paper without one.

    Printing on Watercolour Paper

After looking at Joe's show and tell videos again, I gave the watercolor papers another try tonight. This time around I loaded the paper from the rear, manual tray, and enabled the "reduce scraping" feature. I'm not sure why using the rear tray worked better than the regular paper feed, but it...

    Printing on Watercolour Paper

I didn't have much luck with any watercolor paper paper when I tried. I had a pad of Canson paper (blue pad) and some Fabriano. Images looked no better than plain paper. Maybe I'm just expecting too much who knows. I'm using an Epson R2000 with Precision Color inks, if anyone tested this combo...

    Keep your capping station CLEAN!

Hi everyone, I know this has been discussed before in the forum, but a reminder is always useful. I got my first head clog on an Epson R2000 printer. I try one clean + nozzle check... worse... another one... worse again! I decide not to run a third clean. I turn it off and let it sit...

    New printhead Canon QY6-0049-000 € 15.00

Hi Palombian, I don't know if you speak french or dutch or both, but looking at the add it states "Suite à panne définitive et à changement de matériel" which means the printer from which is was pulled was deemed defective and replaced. Just thought I'd point it out since sometimes a defective...

OK here it is! It works!

Joe, those are really really great results. I had to buy a pack to play around with it... 9x12 is on sale here in my area for 6.59$ CDN. I'll try it with dye and pigment (when I receive my next toy).

WTB: used six color Epson printer to experiment with pigment inks

Hi everyone. I wanted to experiment a bit using pigment inks but I don't want to take the plunge right away on an expensive printer. I was wondering if anyone had a used six color epson (R200,R220,R260 or even wide like 1400) they would be willing to part with on the cheap? I had a 1280 at some...

creating an image optimized profile in ArgyllCMS - stunning results!

Just to add to this, you don't need a spectro or anything special to try this.. it would work with a manufacturer profile. I assume it woudl work better with a custom profile, but it's easy and fun to experiment. All you are doing here is applying image specific changes to an existing profile to...

creating an image optimized profile in ArgyllCMS - stunning results!

Last December, Ben Goran posted a perl script for linux in the ArgyllCMS mailing list. It's used to analyse the actual colors used in an image and then see how it compares to the image's profile (sRGB/AdobeRGB) and the printer profile. Once it's done it's thing, it creates an image specific ICC...

Using ArgyllCMS to Produce Scanner Profiles

I've had good luck just using Argyll and a standard IT8 target. Way less complicated than a custom target. All the instructions for doing so are on the Argyll website http://www.argyllcms.com/doc/Scenarios.html#PS1 IT8s can be purchased online for not much money for those that don't own a...

Cool trick! How to do nozzle checks as a scheduled task

Maybe, just maybe you could setup a second printer using the raw/generic driver (see here h**p://qzindustries.com/TutorialRawWin). Have it connect to the same port as your Primera Bravo, and share the raw printer instead. Send the spool information gathered from the main printer to the raw printer.

    ip4500 ubuntu directcd print alignment

Turboprint is another option.... you basically setup a template as a square page (I think it had to be 14x14cm with 1cm border). The turboprint driver then figures out the true placement. As long as the driver supports your printer you never have to fiddle with your template even if you change...

    ip4500 ubuntu directcd print alignment

Hi, I dont have my ip4500 anymore, but for a long time I used GLABELS for printing to a disc. When you print a CD, you need to tell the driver you are using A4 paper (not 8.5x11). First, install glabels (sudo apt-get install glabels). Second, create a file called "Canon Direct CD_Hub.template"...
