Thanks Peter. The screenshot in post 23 was of my Mac's list of networks in Settings-Wi Fi. The screenshots in my last post are from Windows 10 via VirtualBox.
I downloaded the tool from your link in post 2.
You are correct in that the tool is not talking to the printer but I am not receiving...
Thanks Peter. Yes, I have taken the other printers offline by actually unplugging them. Now, following your comment and Artur5's, I'm not sure what to do. He may be right - the MG is definitely in service tool mode and the service tool appears on the screen via Windows 10 and is active inasmuch...
Grrrr!!!! and various other expletives. Thank you muchly for that - I was beginning to go ballistic! I will indeed have a look on eBay - I have an account with them. Which tool would you recommend I use for the MG5350?
Ok - took the printer offline by using system settings on the printer screen. It is now only connected to USB and I assume that the cable is OK because I can still print.
However, although I can get the printer into maintenance mode, it will not recognise the v3400 service tool. The screen for...
I should be able to close it in settings but I'm not sure which is the MG5350, Here are the wi fi settings:
Obviously it's none of the Vodafone addresses, and the new printer is showing, so it's either the android one or the John one. Is that likely? If so, I can simply delete it.
I wonder if the problem is that the printer is connected to both USB and wi fi. I'm trying to find out how to disconnect it from the wi fi but all suggestions require a wi fi button on the printer and my MG5350 does not have this. I assume I can disconnect it via settings on the printer panel...
Just to follow that up I tried again and this time the power light stayed on and the screen went blank, which seems to be service more. However, it does not seem to activate the service tool page.
Thanks for that, Peter, and the link to the video. I was indeed pressing the wrong button but with your help and the video I was able to press the correct button - during which exciting things happened.
I tried twice. The first time, st each press of the traffic light button, I got either the...
OK. I can now access the service tool but am unable to get the MG5350 to access it. The button sequence does not seem to work on the printer. I am assuming the resume button mentioned in the sequence is the OK button on my machine. One suggestion was to turn off the virus checker but that made...
Thanks. I checked your link and sure enough, my apologies, I can use Boot Camp with Ventura. However, I managed to install Windows 10, did get a browser that worked, and have downloaded the tool. Now that I've my Canon TS running, I can have a go at resetting the counter on the MG.
Thanks but no - I can't use Boot Camp. I've got the service tool but I can't get it into VirtualBox for some reason, nor can I get to the website. I've got Windows 7 on VB at the moment but I'm now loading a Windows 10 ISO so I can download Firefox, then I might have more luck.
Meanwhile the...
Thanks for that, J. My new printer is arriving shortly but I will reset the counter on the MG5350 and keep it standing on a tray, as suggested.
I gave up on Parallels because Microsoft wanted thousands of pounds for their Windows 11. I remembered that I had got VirtualBox tucked away in one of...
I did have Parallels for a while but it takes a lot of disk space. However, for the purposes of using the service tool I could run a trial version. I have actually got the service tool, so I might have a go.
The reason for resetting the counter is because I've received the 'Absorption pad...
My absorption pad is nearly fully and I intend to replace it. In the meantime, I would like to rest the counter. I have the tool but it won't work on a Mac. does anyone know the press button sequence in order to reset the counter? A search on the web gave me this
.
Is this sequence correct...
Many thanks. Q-Nomic seem to be an own brand of the company from whom I buy my Canon carts, Cartucho.es. Clearly, they cannot be in the business of producing these themselves, so they must be produced by a third-party company.
Your thoughts concur with mine and I thank you. I will continue to...
I have only ever used Canon carts in my trusty old MG5350, which I buy from a superb supplier in Barcelona, here in Spain. The company keep suggesting that I change (sorry - switch) to a brand that they recommend called Nomic. Has anyone any knowledge of this brand? The advantage, of course, is...
