Tudor, check debo website, for same money they have IP4850. However, be aware of mixed reviews for this vendor.
In theory the printhead included in cartridge is manufactured at lower standards, to last for about double of stated yield.
But my CISS powered PG37/CL38 already printed more than...
To fix iP4600 check here. The utility is still available for download on internet.
Usually the waste ink tank counter can be reset at least once before ink flowing out.
For IP4850 with 525 & 526 cart in my area are available compatible cartridges, refill kits, bulk ink, reseter and so on...
For testing I top filled the pictured cartridge and I was not impeded at all by the wires connected to multimeter. It was like my regular top fillings, but instead of looking at cartridge I looked at multimeter scale.
The electrodes are intended to be left in place permanently. The way I...
With introduction of opaque cartridges, top filling and German method are seriously hindered.
As a way to know exactly when the reservoir is filled to capacity, I am proposing an electric way to see it, by permanently inserting two electrodes in spongeless side of cartridge and measuring the...

I cannot advice for your specific set-up, but for my Canon IP1900 with 1 tricolor and 1 black cartridge the "universal" 4 color CISS (without cartridges) works great.
My version is expensive too, not so much in materials but in tools and work hours.
The position in picture is only for release stage, at drawing I keep it with outlet port up.
The syringe pictured is 20 cc with eccentric tip, but a 50 cc syringe with central tip can be used, too. I found that a...
Good job, Barfl2.
Last week I built myself something similar but I had not posted it, feeling, as pharmacist said, that is a rip-off of Eweko box.
However, here it is.
The articulated upper arm allows to seal/unseal the air vent (without adhesive tape) while keeping the outlet port sealed...
My presumption is that calibration is a software thing and not mechanical, instructing when to fire each nozzle.
I am wondering if newer models, with carriage moving on a L-shaped profile, require more frequent calibration compared with older models with carriage on a rod.
My cheap Pixma 1900...
Thank you, but the picture is misleading, I used only plastic pieces from a ruler.
I found the 3 way stopcock at the medical device store (thank you, ghwellsjr) where I bought the 60 cc syringe (also a 50 cc syringe with luer lock tip).
The needle is not a disturbance during refill.
But as I...
Excellent job, barfl2, it seems you are on the right track.
Regarding your difficulty to pull the plunger, try with some air in syringe from beginning, about 15 - 20 cc.
Last days I was pursuing a similar approach, but instead of adapting an existent refill clip, I decided to build one from...
ThrillaMozilla, barfl2, keep trying, it worth.
My first attempts were messy and with poor results, but immediately after I used a good quality 20 cc syringe and good seals with my contraption, I got clean and fast refills.
Use of ghwellsjr 60 cc bent tip syringe and hose adapter are not...
Just an update.
I finally found the 60 cc syringe with long tip and rubber hoses (exactly from places ghwellsjr said) and I was able to duplicate the tools and method.
Everything went as in ghwellsjr video.
Did the printer start feeding paper? Tried to switch to cassette feeding?
Anyway the link for service manual is here http://noel.bouvet.free.fr/ip4200/Canon%2520Servicemanual_ip4200.pdf
Check at page 20 for external cover removal.
Had anybody else used a needle from a catheter?
Mine is really thin, 0.7 mm / 22 ga, and, after cutting some plastic near the hub, 6 cm / 2.36 inch long.
With the hole drilled exactly at a corner I was able to slip the needle effortless below the sponge and even to go with the tip beyond the...
First time I saw this topic I said to myself: Oh, no, not another German method topic.
But then, after evaluating panos guidelines and replies, I had an idea: what it would be to think at German method not as a compact, indivisible thing, but as a combination of parameters/variables, each with...
Although I do not have any printer with opaque cartridges, I was very curious to see how Freedom Method works on opaque cartridge.
So I covered a BCI cartridge with black electrical tape, applied Freedom Method and after injecting about 10 ml of ink I applied ghwellsjr steps to clean the air...
Except my very first try I never injected air or foam, well, no more that it was trapped in dead space between syringe and outlet port.
And as I said in a previous post, the ink had a tendency to go straight in upper sponge.
I kept the position of cartridge exactly as in ghwellsjr video, even...
