I have very good results with empties from inksupply.com . I use the PGI5 and CLI8 carts. They come without chips so you need to use your oem chips or replacement chips.
Go to www.inksupply.com and search for Autoprint. It's under support. It's a program that will print a pattern of your choice on a schedule you set. Works quite well.
Would propylene glycol (R V drain antifreeze) be a better choice than vehicle anti freeze. It's non toxic to humans and animals. You never know what migh happen if a child should get hold of a cleaning cart with anti freeze in it.
My MP600 will print greenish grey scales if I select photo paper, even with black and white originals, The only way I've found to overcome it is to select plain paper. Problem is this will use the PGI 5BK cartridge and you don't want that on photo paper.
Several months ago I got a MX-700 at Staples for $60 after their easy rebate. Got it for my kids and they're very happy with it. I have a MP-600 so I fill and reset their cartridges. The MX-700 has a document feeder and fax. It does not have aCLI-8Bk cartridge so photos will be printed with...
If you run water across a print and the ink runs, chances are it's dye ink. Pigmented ink is normally more water proof. As far as how to refill-can't be any help
Here is a QY6-0061 for MP-600 for under $25. It's Canon factory refurb. http://cgi.ebay.com/Canon-Printhead-Qy6-0061_W0QQitemZ250561139689QQcmdZViewItemQQptZPrinter_Accessories?hash=item3a569b93e9
My MP600 is having a cyan problem. If I run a cleaning cycle the test pattern looks good except it seems a little light. If I run a second one the cyan has a blank on the right side that is parabolic and about 1 1/2 inches from right to left. If I run it a couple more times the cyan will...
I'm sorry, I should have posted back. I found the problem was I had selected photo paper instead of plain paper. I should have remembered it used dye ink on photo paper therefore it was printing process black which is very difficult to get true black. Thanks for the replies.
MX 700 uses CLI 8, PGI 5 Carts. It does not use dye black. I picked one up for my kids a few months ago at Staples for $60 after rebate. It has a document feeder. They're very pleased with it.
