The pgi-9 inks are not pigment oil based? How come so that they don't smear when put in water? I always thought they used different solvant like oil to carry the ink particles.

Some chinese paper and various brands sold in uk that now will probably be more costly or difficult to get because of the the brexit. I'm not going for big brand papers like Ilford or Hahnermule, they are too much costly. I would accept a lower quality in exchange of smaller prices.

in these 2 days i printed around 120 pages with the 9500, i noticed that the area above the cartridges is a bit dirty now. Probably after so much printing the air inside the cover got full of micronized ink and dirtied everything a bit. There's some kind of manteinance that I should do...

Lots of models depending the size of the paper you have to print. Do you need A3 or you can go even with A4?
