256 nozzles x 6 carts
the ip3000 I have has:
320 for black
"512" for Cyan and Magenta
256 for yellow
so dont want to downgrade in speed.
sooo....may look at the...
this thread needs pinned! : ) very informative about the biggest problem Canon users have (welll....after using third party inks at least!).
i am wondering if the third party inks (pigment blacks that is) are causing major clogs, then the purge unit does it's thing, but burns up in the...
thanx drc.... but do you know if it is possible to print a odd size envelope...instead of just standard envelopes..i.e. greeting cards, etc. not just check size.
ok, i am finding out that using pigment black ink in certain canon printers (ip3000), tend to clog after time...well....using cheap third party. soooo....i am looking for a printer that uses dye only so i can continue to run cheap inks and not worry about them getting clogged.
i am considering...
Does anybody know if I can print custom size envlopes on the Canon printers like the Ip3000 or ip6600? or only set sizes it may have?
i have a ton of greetinf card sized envelopes i would like to print to from a Access database...don't want to use labels..but print on the envelopes.
thanks...
CHris,
sounds like u r going throu the same stuff i have...by thwe way, it's not gonna catch on fire or explode.
so unitl i get time, using my S600 for now to get work done.
also, i found a perfect syringe in the baby section of a grocery store... rubble nozzle fits perfectly over the BLACK...
hmm... i haven't boughta nother head yet for my ip3000 being afraid there may be another problem. Such as MAYBE the purge unit burned up? wondering if this is the case for yours? do u get a purge unit error code? i have gotten those also. i may end up buying a newer chromalife canon printer...
Black (K) is added to CMY since even when all 3 are mixed together will result in a muddy dark brown due to impurities no matter what. Even with genuine top quality Canon Inks. To get a CMYK mixture Black (RICH BLACK), a percentage of each color is used...not necesarily 100% of all 4 colors...
Grandad35,
thanx for the advice.
yeah...tried that a few times over...no luck...seems EXTREMLEY CLOGGED.
one thig i just ran across though that may be a cause of this severe clog was reading Neil's Inkjet Page about unclogging. is there IN FACT a sponge at the screeened inlet port of the...
yeah...since i am about to smash mine open also... not afraid to try a harse solvent in the ink channel in the plastic housing. the ceramic nozzle head is fine....the clog is in the housing. just gotta find time myself.
i am guessing the solvents even if hot enough to break down the...
i am also considering doing a autopsy on the plastic casing also... since the pig. black port is definatly clogged severly (all nozzles are fine). can't seem to get anything thin enough to worm its way through the port to unclog. but before I do that...I am going to soak it one last time in a...
yes..i USED crappola pig. black carts apparently (at least it didn't agree with the pixma). www.summitimage.com will try the others when I get anothe printer or head.
the problem i have is I have used these same inks in a S600 (Old Reliable) for a few years now and it's still going strong...
i have a ip3000.... pigment black killed the head apparntly. happened maybe after 7 monthes. Used genuine inks at first...then used generic carts...no problems with CMY, just K (pig. black).
i have taken the head apart, blown out, used hot water, windex,....no luck....used finger nail...
i agree danny. i MAY buy another head...and use ONLY Canon BLACK...the other colors are just dyed water....seems no particles to give problems like the pigmented black.
strange thing though... i have been using these same black carts in my s600 before (i bought like 40 of em) and no...

i got the ip3000...pretty disappointed with manual...but may be useful for the service mode codes. no detail on the head itself...which is what i need.
