I never owned a color laser but my guess is that the messy factor it's the same, the only difference being that with mono printers you have to refill just one cart instead of four..,:D
I can't tell you anything about printerspareparts, but there wasn't any problem getting printheads for the Pro10/100/200/300 until some time ago. Then Tasktron was 'kaput' while the printheads for these printers went out of stock ( and have been so for months ) on the websites of two reliable...
There's a possibility that the chip contacts became oxidized or stained with dried ink. It happens sometimes, specially with cartridges that have been around for a while. Have you checked those contacts visually ?. Even if they look fine, it won't harm cleaning them with alcohol.
I wouldn't bet on that. That promotion was only for Pro-100 printers sold in North America. No rebates at all in Europe or other regions. Unless all the defective printheads went to the American market and the rest of the world got the 'good ones', which is very unlikely, this theory seems...
Well, tell my brother that .. ;).
He has seen my MB5150 and, apart from not liking the size of the machine, he doesn't wants to change anything in the current location of the printer, much less to run the machine from the floor. No Maxify for him.
Very affordable, reliable and sturdy Canon A4 inkjet printer ?.
I’m afraid there’s isn’t such thing nowadays, but I wondering if some of you folks could give me some ideas.
That printer won’t be for me (I’m contented with my Maxify MB5150 ) but for my brother, whose Canon MG5750 is dying (error...
Confessing my “sins” as well. I'm still using some Pro10s-Octoinkjet inks purchased in 2018..
Also using currently Canon OEM inks extracted from large PFI carts expired 8 or 10 years ago. No issues, so far, with any of them.
Of course, those are pigment inks. Therefore maybe no fair comparison...
It seems that I'll be starting the year with one of those 'I.disagree.with.the.Hat' posts. Almost forgot about them. :D
I wouldn’t advice PLA for outdoor prints enduring hot weather and lots of sun. If you lived in Arizona instead of Ireland, the arms of your magnificent 3D lamppost would be...
No solution other than replacing the printhead. This was no clog but failure of the electronic component controlling the firing of the nozzles on this yellow stripe.

( see post #13 )
No stock of QY6-0084 (printhead for Pro-100/200) or QY6-0085 (for Pro-10/300) at reliable websites in continental Europe.
Forum member Palombian discovered a UK website that, apparently, has these...
AFAIK yello gello is ( or was ) a problem with OEM yellow dye ink for CLI-42 carts and some aftermarket inks.
Never heard of this about any Canon pigment ink. Besides, in my case it was ink from PGI-2500XL carts and GI-56 bottles. Both inks being pigment OEM for Maxify printers, eventual...
I've been refilling the black carts with Inktec since I purchased my first Maxify years ago. Never a problem with clogs or anything, unlike the cyan cart on my first printhead and the yellow on the second.
The reason of the issues with cyan and yellow OEM ink it's probably not Canon's fault but...
I have to clarify that the troublesome yellow channel used first the ink from a Canon original PGI-2500-XLcart. After that I refilled with yellow ink from Canon GI-56 bottles. Both OEM inks but, I assume, with somehow different formulation.
Maybe the printhead didn't like the mixture of inks...
Yes, if all the nozzles are firing correctly. Not if, in spite of using only OEM ink, the yellow channel is almost totally blocked.
Guess whose Maxify falls in the second category...
Shocking news indeed about Tasktron and Canon new policy as well. As I suspected, they seem to be closing all doors for fixing printers with problems, not only to final users but vendors as well. Now, what happens if the printhead of your Pro10/100/200/300/1000 fails, you have no spare and the...
Might be but, in that case, most webs usually say something like :
"Currently doing maintenance tasks. We'll be back ASAP. Sorry for the inconvenience"
Instead, when you try to enter the site you get : "HTTP Error 404. The requested resource is not found."
