When you go to the Epson web site for the restart code will you also get the Epson firmware update that makes using CIS systems impossible? Just wondering!
I've been through the counter shut down gimmick, the (This printer has come to the end of it's useful life) notice where a perfectly good and working printer is suddenly converted into a paper weight.
That seems to be the norm for the average home printers Epson,(and others sell) but I'd like to...
Just to add my small experience, my Epson 1400 got the Notice and shut down and I went to Epson , went through the steps and they sent a code to restart the 1400, however that only worked for about 50 more prints and then shut down again.
At that point I found information on Inkjetcarts web...
Yes indeed, I've run dozens of 240 mil ink bottles through my Epson 1400 over the almost 3 years I've owned it and each set of the 6 colors saves me well over $2000.00 a pop! I paid $149.00 for the 1400 factory Remanufactured and It's still going. At that rate of money saved I could fill a good...
My 1400 is still printing very well indeed after close to 3 years mostly on CIS systems.
It shut me down once with the "printer has come to the end of it's useful life" notice which I ignored. I had to buy OEM refills from Inkjetcarts and ran a set of them then switched back to a cis system and...
I have stuck with Epsons because I'm used to working around their occasional shut down/counter methods and I find the Piezo heads to be very forgiving. I don't even need to run head cleanings as long as I print something at least every other day! Also ink capacity is never a problem with any...
In my case the first brand was from InkRepublic and I switched to InkJetCarts because it was cheaper at $5.50 for 120 mils bottles. Good inks on both, no problems. Outoftheinkwell!
Jtoolman said it, the best way ever to avoid clogs is to print, print, print.
Print something daily and if you go on a trip either arrange to have someone else print at least once a day or set up an automatic print sequence. Outoftheinkwell!
I'm not saying do what I did but just for the information here is the experience I had. I was using one brand of dye based inks in an Epson 1400 and decided to switch to another brand of the same type of ink. (CYMK LC LM) 6 dampers with tubing set up.
I was thinking of washing the system with...
I went with Epson because I like to use the CIS damper cartridges with the flip top refill holes and the chip bar that tells the printer it is always full.
The Piezo heads are also very forgiving of goof ups such as last week when my wife printed not one but two cartridges bone dry!
A printer...
I keep hearing about the super fast Memjets and wondered if anyone has one that is a member here? I hear they can print 60 pages a minute which may be a huge advantage for someone that needs volume printing.
Also I wonder if they have any for home use or just the business types?
I understand...
Strained ribbon cable was an interesting thought but then ( in all 4 printers?). Possible I suppose but that would seem to indicate a built in engineering mistake for this model I should think.
I don't buy 4 ink printers anymore although one could say the 6 ink Epson 1400 and Artisans are stlll...
If I may ask a question of the members, there is a problem I have run across with the Epson C88 model 4 color printer model that I'd like to toss out to see if it is anything that has been experienced by other members.
When I started out I bought a C88 and liked it at first and my needs were...
