perhaps these inks are a mixture of dye and pigment I have noticed MIS do this as
a compromise for colour vibrancy of dye and longivity of pigment but are not 100% pigment
granddad just a thought on traditional photo paper vs ink jet
photo paper has all three dyes embedded in it not to mention the silver in it that the dyes are attched to and coated with plastic on the back their is enough dye to completely cover the print in any colour or all 3 colours I,m...
I,m not sure if the i950 is the same as my s9000 but I believe it is the overspray sponge drains
to a much larger pad that lays across the bottom of the printer as descibed on neil slades
website and it is this pad that requires cleaning after an ink waste full message. although
I've found...
I don't think I would be removing the mesh unless you have some way of replacing it
but if you removed the sponge the reservoir underneath could be cleaned with alchohol
then reassembled filled with ink then primed which is very important.cleaning the sponge
with alcohol at this stage would...
I am currently refilling epson durabrite carts and as far as I can tell
they are dye inks. Have'nt had any complaints from clients yet
I think only epsons ultrachrome inks are pigment
I,m not quite sure what you mean by steel cover, are you referring to the mesh over the ink reservoir
under the sponge and over the head? can you post a picture this mesh is to filter ink to the head
if this is what you are referring to then yes this reservoir needs to have ink in it after...
Mis has a tutoral on ink mixing on their site not sure it has anything to do with clotting but it seems
to be an accepted practice to mix inks
http://www.inksupply.com/tinting.cfm
the coagulating ink as you describe it is pigment ink a thicker ink its properties are to last much longer
on a black and white document for example it is more difficult to clean and can cause head clogging more often
than the thinner dyes ,if longevity is not a problem I have used black dye in...
Thats a good question I've often thought ink resellers tell you they are different to sell more ink.
But I,ve seen a canon using epson black dye diluted with 10% alchohol.
I have an array of different inks for different carts and a lot look identical but some do look different
for example the...
Rob after 2 years of constant web browsing and forum "lurking" this is the only
one I post to, it is a job well done and you should give your self a pat on the back
same goes to Grandad.well done.
I do use deskscan on xp no problem, I,m sorta stuck with scsi for a while because all my high end scanners

is scsi my sony scanner and microtek are all scsi I've never had a problem with scsi I...
scanners huh
A subject dear to my heart since I spend the the bulk of my day doing this for clients.
about 6 years ago we installed a Kodak picture scan to cd system being trialled here by Kodak before world wide release(Australia often gets used as a test market before final...

Sorry I've been calling you Rob. I don,t have any problems removing the top,my method
is to lay the cart on it,s side and with a razor knife gently wedge it on one corner until you hear a crack
do all four corners then gently slide the razor from corner to corner.
the lex cart I had...
Inkdoodle
You say removing the top is hard,My supplier Ausjet sells me replacement tops that have a
snap on arrangement rather than having to re-glue,much easier.
I did a test on a lexmark 17 that has been sitting around for a while it had black tar like ink that oosed
out the top...

Rob
Yes you are right the cleaning blades and mechanism is to right but during the cleaning cycle the
head will spend short periods of time to the left over a separate piece of sponge, presumably
to eject ink in a seperate operation to the blade cleaning on the right, sorry perhaps park...
