I do not have a bottom puller, and the modified 830 black cart printed fine before the modification. The 831 was fine as well, and is still working perfectly after the modification so I'm baffled why the 830 would have this problem.
After so many cleaning and deep cleaning cycles, the black is...
I decided to have some fun and swapped the foams from 40/41 carts into the 830/831 carts. I've had success with the 831 color cart, but now my 830 black won't print. Dabbing tissue on the printhead shows that there's no ink coming out of it even after two deep cleans. I'm soaking it on a...
I've always been wondering what Quiet Mode was good for, aside from lowering the printer's operating noises. I've noticed the printouts come out slower as well. However, is operating in Silent Mode good for the printer? I figure since it's not jerking stuff around inside, quieter may also...
Yeah, I guess I'm back to popping off the top. Plus I got a spare 40/41 cart that has a busted printhead, I'm gonna try swapping the foam.
Don't rub it in too much. My first integrated printhead in a long while was my 3300, and I'm not sure whether to love it (coz of all the fine prints it...
Thanks for the links, panos, but IMHO that guy is an idiot for touching the contact strip on the carts. Still...
Milking, I totally agree with you on your points, but what about my, er, "theory" regarding the cover and the alignment (see #1 above)?
Pharmacist, I am careful where I insert my...
I got myself an MP190/198 printer instead of the other models since my scanner decided to go kaput as well. I figured getting a 2-in-1 would be cheaper. I hope! Anyways, this baby comes with the 830/831 carts, which are like the 40/41 carts but with less capacity.
I asked myself, how can a...
For some reason, nobody wants to touch my printer while under warranty. They're eager to get their hands on it if I'm willing to void the warranty though. Now the local dealer is blabbering something about not servicing my unit because of some new "policy" by Canon or something. All this...
The difficulty I think if you include the amount of ink in the sponge is how to account for that ink. For example, if the box claims 13ml for CLI-8s, and I refill 7-8ml when the reservoir is empty, that means the sponge holds 5ml? How come you mention 12ml? Are you talking about refilling...
Boost sales - get your average consumer to buy
Values - the ml posted by lin for the carts
7ml - more or less yes but remember I'm talking about the RESERVOIR only, so the cart itself holds more than 7ml ink if you count the volume on the sponge.
Hello lin, sorry I did not mean to offend you. I meant I do not believe the VALUES you posted, I did not mean to imply you were lying.
Companies can (and do) post meaningless/misleading information to boost sales. I suspect this is such. Why? Because if they say that the new carts are...
No info on the carts capacity, and I doubt what lin has posted. Like I said, I fill an empty reservoir with 7ml of ink with my current carts, the 821 carts are said to be smaller, so I doubt a capacity of 9ml. Maybe that's with a totally virgin cart with the dry sponge?
The 3300 is faulty...
The printer I bought IS this iP3300!! This printer isn't even a year old yet!
Re: worried --- like maybe the printer "locks" itself up when it detects that the carts are "supposed" to be empty... I seem to remember a friend of mine talking about this but I'm not sure if there's any truth in it.
I don't care for the chip resetter so long as the printer continues printing EVEN with "drained/empty" ink tanks. I've never reset my 3300 carts and I use the Eyeball Mk II method to verify ink levels.
pharmacist, what do you mean about the chip being programmed differently? Is that just for...
If I get this right, your printer prints wonderfully in Win2K, but does not in WinXP? From your post, it seems like the ink isn't the problem if the printer has the problem with both original and 3rd-party inks. It also seems that you've played with the intensity setting a bit... have you...
Like I said in one of my older threads, my iP3300 is dying. Let's just say at that time it was showing symptoms, this time it looks like it has to be admitted in the ICU. With the repair center a good 5-6 hours drive away from me, I'm looking to perhaps spend a few more thousand...
pharmacist has told me that I can purge my carts even using the German refilling method; from what I understand, I should do the following steps:
1. Use the German refill method to withdraw all the ink out of the reservoir
2. Fill the reservoir with water (tap water? distilled?)
3. Continue...
What if I buy a new set of chipped carts to reset the counter... and act all innocent? Will they be able to tell I've been refilling (maybe by analyzing the inks on the waste pad)?
