Hi,
I have just received a refill kit from Precision Colors 1* 4oz and 4* 2 oz (for my IP4500). Cost me 17.84 including postage. I ordered last Friday (15th) and received today so pretty good delivery. I haven't tried any yet as I still have some of the oem ink left. Postage was US$7.52. I...
It's got over 70,000 nozzles. Looks good for nearly 9000 dpi except that it has to get 3 colours and two blacks in there so resolution a lot less than this. Unless the head can move a little, but that's a lot of mass to move quickly. I'm not sure it's a threat to todays photo printers.
Thanks for that.
I found the Image Specialists website and ordered up some samples (nice of them to offer that). I wait to see if they get delivered here. I'm assuming it's the same Image Specialists (Holtsville N.Y.) as supplied by Precision Colors.
Pharmacist, which supplier do you use in...
Doug, thanks. Do you have any reference numbers for the different inks, or do they only sell one type for the Canon? I find the site very confusing.
Steve
I have just got my IP4500, found 12 empty original Canon cartridges on ebay (for 1 UK pound!) and am now researching refill inks. From what I have read on this forum the following seem popular;
1. Hobbicolors...available from ebay and they ship to the UK. Richer colours so would probably need...
The seller has agreed to a partial refund which I was happy to accept. He was still sticking to his original story and that he does not know how the printer registered over 300 prints. Still I am happy that I have now paid a 'used printer' price.
Thanks for confirming the full cartridges. I am waiting for the selers response. I confirmed with Canon that all EEPROM settings are zero when they leave the factory.
I paid more for the printer than it would have been when it was on sale. I have no problem with this if it was 'new'. Used...
The seller has come back stating that he has contacted Canon support and they say that printers are shipped with half full 'starter' cartridges. As three of them are 3/4 full or over I find this difficult to believe. I spoke to Canon and they said that some shipped full some half full depending...
I must admit to still being confused at this.
Dougsewell, presumably you are using bottled ink to refill (i.e not cartridges). Is this ink labelled as Inktec? If so what size and does it have a part number I can quote to them over the phone? (Or numbers to cover all the colours etc)
I've just spoken to InkTec. Apparently they don't make ink for the small format printers and seemed to be saying that what they sell is a Jettec product. Also I can't find reference to the CLI-8/PGI-5 on their website. What do you order?
I am waiting to hear back from him regarding the printer's newness.
I was considering leaving neutral feedback, with a clear explanation that the seller was untruthful. However neutral feedback does not get put into the feedback equation I believe. I may well try what you suggest though. It was...
Just what I thought. Still... not eaten too far into it's life cycle!
Thanks for the info. My old Epson needed lots of button pushing to get the tanks accessible. Just looked at the ink. Black dye full. Black pigment about 2/5th. So they agree with the ink monitor. Cyan 3/4s, magenta 7/8ths so...
There's certainly a lot of information on the EEPROM dump printout. I'm not sure what it all means. Total of 316 pages printed (a couple by me last night). No cartridge changes. I haven't checked the cartridges yet. How do I get them to move to the centre of the printer to access them?
I see you're using Inktek inks. As I have just got my first 4500 I shall need to find a source of decent ink. Where do you source from? And is it close to Canon inks.
I nearly bought a 3500 from Nanobits last week but decided to hold out for a 4500 (nearly new) instead.
I have just taken delivery of an IP4500 which was bought as a 'new' unit which had had the cartridges installed by the seller for testing to see if it worked. I was told it was bought as part of a package and was not needed as the seller had a printer already. The printer looks unused apart from...
msmart,
No, not hijacking. I'm learning a lot from all this even tho' my IP4500 has not yet arrived (today I hope). I have seen the Hobbicolors kit on ebay but don't know if Precision Colors sends to the UK or not. Any UK users here?
I'm a little concerned about profiling though. Is there an...
I've just bought a Canon IP4500 and am looking for peoples experiences with photo paper, especially budget papers. Do I stick to Canon paper? Is own brand supermarket paper any good? I plan to use non OEM inks (advice need on this also!) not sure which yet. I'm in the UK. I'm trying to short...
