I'm looking for a chip resetter for the pgi 220/cli 221 series of cartridges, what are people using these days that seems to work well? This is for an MP560....
I picked up this MP560 for my parents with an extra set of OEM carts but I will be refilling these with inks from Precision Colors - I...
Thanks mharris127!
I actually ended up finding an Mp760 on kijiji, this printer was lightly used and in like new condition, best of all, I got it for $20 and the seller threw in a brand new Samsung black and white laser printer (ml 2010) for free!
I have an MP530 that I disassembled to track...
My issue is fixed!! I tried again today after deleting everything and reinstalling the files that I mentioned in post #27 above, well I kept on getting the same error/caution message that the printer PORT could not be detected, I also received a message in the desk top tray that the printer...
I am resurrecting this thread! My MP760 has been working great for me, I have been using refill kits from Precision Colors and I am to this point completely satisfied!
I was using it with Windows XP and had no issues....
However, I rebuilt my computer this past weekend with a new motherboard...
Good idea on the drivers as they are the most up to date!!!!
I seem to have everything up and running but if anything comes up I will post back....
Thanks again!
I do intend to keep the printer connected to the tower, trying another hub would just be a matter of curiosity to see if it is something of a common issue which going by the information iP4XXX provided, it does in fact seem like a problem so the printer is definately staying connected to the...
Thanks guys! I ended up moving the printer to the other side of the desk and plugging in directly to the tower and all seems good now! My hub seems to work fine with other devices plugged in but for whatever reason the printer scanner was not happy with it - the printer printed fine its just...
Ok I think I'm in business! I deleted everything and started over but I was having the same issue until I decided to unplug the printer USB cable from my USB hub and plug it directly into the back of the tower and then it worked no problem!!! I think the issue was with my hub and although it...
Thanks for the input guys! I will unplug and uninstall and try again.....I think the sequence of the way I did things was off.
The funny thing is that the printer is in fact recognized under control panel printers and faxes - it shows as Canon MP760 series printer and its online...
I just...
I'm having trouble scanning, I downloaded the driver from the Canon website along with the MP navigator v1.16 driver (even though I have v2.2 for my mp530) and when I try to scan I get an error message that says: cannot communicate with scanner. scanner may be turned off, a cable may be...
I am planning on refilling using the Canon OEM's that are currently in the printer, the BCI 6m is running low so I will go and purchse another one of those until my refill kits come in from Precision Colors.
He did include a full BCI 3eBK
I'm going to download the drivers now!
Well I think I got a great printer for $20! Actually two printers because the seller asked if I wanted a virtually brand new (used a few times) Samsung black and white laser printer, so he threw that in as well!!
Regarding the MP760: The first thing I noticed was that it was in excellent...
Thanks for the information guys!
I was just looking through my emails that I exchanged with the seller and the one dated from March 21, 2010 said that there are still ink cartridges in the printer that are about half full and the printer was put into storage around the 1st week of March - so...
I have been shopping around for a 2nd/back-up printer and I came across a local listing for a Canon MP760 for $20!
It is listed as excellent condition....I will be going on Thursday afternoon to check it out and the current owner has no problem with me running a nozzle check on it. Is there...
It seems that it is difficult to find these PGI 5 and CLI 8 cartridge based printers anymore, and the ones that are out there - MP530 and MP610, although brand new in the box, are around $160.00 + $20 or $30 shipping (ebay) which is more or equal to the new PGI 220 and CLI 221 based printers...
I found a new MP610 for around $160 + shipping, not sure if thats too much $$ for that printer though.....
I also found a new MP530 for the same price...
I am in the process of disassembling my MP530 to get at the purge unit and I thought it would be a good idea to have a 2nd printer available especially as I am building a house and will have a computer in my shop in the basement and another in the office upstairs.
I was wondering if I could get...
I wish I could say that I still had the OEM's that came with the printer when I purchased it 4 years ago, but alas......I don't, I wish I knew about this forum back then!
I will look into what staples has to offer here in the way of a recycling program, otherwise, I found on Amazon that they...
