    MP830 Photo Black

Finally, I got my deck finished. It took twice as long as my estimate. I guess why I am a DIYer... not a professional... I took out the dye black and yellow rubber washers. Washed and dried them. Put the yellow rubber washer in the dye black slot. Leave the yellow slot without the rubber...

Canon Pixma MP830 - Light cyan not printing during nozzle check

stratman, Your dye yellow may be similar to my MP830 dye black problem. The nozzle check shows similar cone-shaped pattern. Is this a coincident or is this a problem with the MP830 printhead? Is your yellow ink level go down after a few cleaning cycles...

Is my Canon Pixma IP3000 dead?

Any Canon iPxxxx series printer that uses BCI-6, BCI-3e, CLI-8 and PGI-5 cartridges are good printers. These ink cartridges are clear plastic which makes it easy for refill. It is hard to find these models in the store. Look for them from Kijiji or Craigslist.

    MP830 Photo Black

ghwellsjr, I am rebuiding my deck before winter sets in. I will do the no rubber washer test after the deck project. Now I have the manual. I will take the cover off and do a visual inspection on the purge unit.

    MP830 Photo Black

No need for the plastic wrap. All I need to do is take the rubber washer off. It will suck air without the vacuum seal. I am thinking of applying a thin layer of Vaseline on the dye black rubber washer to get a better seal. Any comments. Would it be easier to open the printer up and do...

    MP830 Photo Black

Correct. Sometime, it took 2 -3 cleaning with the Windex on the inlet screen to get the perfect nozzle check. If my memory serves me well, the rubber washer is not a solid piece of rubber. It is hollow. I cannot turn it up-side-down to get a good seal. But I will switch it with the one used...

    MP830 Photo Black

I am trying to solve the photo black (CLI-8BK) that I have for over 3 months. This is on my MP830. Doing a few cleaning cycles, with Windex on the inlet screen, will result a perfect nozzle check. But after printing a few pages, the nozzle check shows problem with the photo black. I am...

Canon Pixma MP830 - Light cyan not printing during nozzle check

    1. The cleaning process is removing old ink from the nozzle walls which may clog the nozzles which were OK before. They will eventually clear on repeated cleaning. 2. I usually put some Windex on the purge pads once per month to keep the purge system working smoothly. No need to put Windex...

Canon Pixma MP830 - Light cyan not printing during nozzle check

I think your purge system is working. Are you using Canon OEM cartridge? Now you need to do the cleaning. 1. Open the cover. 2. Take out the cyan cartridge. Put some Windex on the inlet screen at the cyan slot. Reinstall the cyan cartridge. 3. Optional step: Continue to put Windex on the...

    Canon BJC-6000

I am working on my friend's BJC-6000 printer which uses BCI-3e cartridges. This printer uses two printheads. One is for the black and the other is for the color. Nozzle check shows no black and yellow at all. The scan image of the nozzle check did not come out clear. Sorry, no nozzle check...

Canon Pixma MP830 - Light cyan not printing during nozzle check

Please upload the nozzle check for us to take a look. You need to check the purge system operation first. If the purge system is not working, no amount of cleaning or deep cleaning will fix your problem. During cleaning, the purge system sucks ink out of ink cartridges through the nozzles...

Canon MP780 with a "wrong cartridge" error code

Clean the ink sensor. The ink sensor may be cover with ink due to cartridge overfill. The ink sensor is located on the track where the printhead move along. It detects ink in each cartridge when the printhead moves over it. When the sensor is covered with one ink color, it will report the...

    Canon i9950 problem

UK members have found Windex replacement in UK. But I cannot remember the name. Any window cleaner with ammonia will do. Make sure that cleaner is not too thick. For the purpose of testing the purge unit, you can use distilled water on the purge pads.

    Canon i9950 problem

Hughbikes, I think the purge unit on your printer is not working since your local supplier got your printhead working. The purpose of the purge unit is to suck ink out of the ink tank through the printhead nozzles. When you got home with the newly cleaned printhead, your printer was not be...

New rather fishy members placing posts which do not matter at all....

It is better than those xxx spam. At least they are selling printer related stuff. But, regardless they wasted my time. I do not mind the merchant members as long as they provide information and help.

Seeking a "cheat sheet" list of economical color printers

Canon used to produce lots of good printers. But its market share is going down. For an example, the Staples Canada this week back-to-school flyer does not have a Canon printer listed compared with 4 Brother printers.

Canon iP5000 dead after head clean.

I have not try that method. I cannot comment on that. Did you prime the printhead before nozzle check? To prime the printhead, I usually flooded the purge pads with Windex and do couple of deep cleaning cycle.

Canon iP5000 dead after head clean.

You took out the printhead to clean. Can you describe what you did? Did you allow water getting into the electric component? Did you dry the electronic component before putting the printhead back into your printer?

Additional refill techniques for Canon BCI-6 carts

I am not talking about duct tape. I am talking about the aluminum tape which can be purchased from home improvement store. It is like the aluminum foil that we use for cooking. But the aluminum tape has a sticky side and is only 2" wide.
