Hi qwertydude
saying that, I tried my mp560 also using IS inks and they look really good just like OEM inks. I know this could be because of the black pigment ink.
So can I assume that bleeding is a "characteristic" of black IS dye inks? Or do I have a bad batch of inks?
I don't know if it is the correct word for it but today I noticed when I print texts, black text look like there is an alignment problem. I did a few alignments which did not improve anything.
I thought my P50 is faulty and I nearly packed it for replacement until I remembered I still had the...
@stratman - I am currently using spyder for monitor calibration, but I'm looking to calibrate both monitor and printer.
When I say generic, I mean its not rebranded like this one...
Thank you all for your replies and suggestions.
@martin - I can't make any adjustment with the epson printer when I use photoshop to manage colors. I know this is possible with canon though.
@msmart - I use generic TY watershiled. Disc prints on my epson printer are very close to prints with...
I am a photography hobbyist and I like to print my own pictures. I currently use Epson P50 and a Canon MP560 but I want to concentrate using my epson printer. I use Photoshop's color management, and I have no trouble with my prints when I use Epson OEM inks with Epson Premium Glossy paper with...
Why don't you buy a new printer and try the old printhead on it. If it works perfectly then you know the old printer is faulty, and you will have a brand new spare printhead.
If the old printhead doesn't work on the new printer, then you'll know it's the culprit and you have a spare printer body.
mikling and/or others, do you have any experience with this type of ciss cartridge:

Yes, I used Canon's ink on my test prints. I have just strated using octoinks but I can't comment now as this is just my first refill, and I didn't do a proper flush.
Neither.
Though I have MP560, and IP4700 for CD printing. MP560 works quite well but the prints are a bit warm for my liking, though I know you can tweak the colour settings. The IP4700 scratches printed CD's and I can't get good prints onto discs so I returned it and got an Epson P50 which...
I use these ones:

The cartridge is similar to your picture on the right. Thery have V6 auto reset chips which I originally bought for my rx685, now I'm using them on my P50 with no problem.
I am...
The Canon OEM carts are resettable and the resetter you want is in websnail's website (I don't know about the blue resetter):

I have the same one which I bought off ebay as websnail didn't have them...
so sorry to wake an old thread up, but after a few hours of going through threads in search for proper priming/flushing epson compatible cartridges, this particular post made me laugh!:lol::lol:
Hi mikling, do you mind telling me how to properly prime the cartridge then please? I've searched in here and youtube, but all I see is priming ciss kits. Thank you.
Returned my iP4700 yesterday and got my Epson P50 today. Now I'm a very happy camper! Disc printing is brilliant.
Now, I tried my old ink carts with auto reset chips. They get detected as oem inks! But after printing a few pages and doing a nozzle check, I see bands on the test prints. I tried...
I've had the iP4700 since Saturday and I'm not happy with the disc printing. Discs have staright lines across the printable side after printing. To me it looks like its caused by the rollers. I never had this problem before with Epson RX685. I'm using waterproof printable discs.
Anyone else...
