Opening an HP 45 style print head isn't a last resort - it will destroy it. Taking the sides off don't get access to anything inside. And you'll never get it sealed again if you damage the ink bag in any way.
Yes, that solvent mix dissolves pigment and dye ink. It will dissolve ink inside the...
To get dried ink off of the print head, never scrub. I set tough ones up on end (nozzles down but tilted a bit so solution gets under) in a shallow container with my cleaning solution in it to let them soak. The key is patience. Then wipe gently with dampened blue shop towels.
When using the...
Hey, that's great! You went back further than I did. 2006 showed no images and seemed to go into less detail.
Careful about Windex! There are different kinds. I use steam distilled water, nonsudsing household ammonia, and isopropyl alcohol.
Scroll down to 6a for details on making it. This way...
I have a feeling that the printheads for UV and dye ink are identical except for encoding in the contacts. Because all of those heads look like the HP 45 black cartridge, which is a pigmented black.
I've not had a chance to do anything at all with this printer since I'd posted here 10 years...
Coca Cola Inc did -not- switch back to the old formula for "Classic Coke". It was all a ruse to switch to a different, cheaper form of sugar. If they had simply switched sugars, everyone could have told there was a change.
In Canada, I think they were not allowed to use the cheaper sugar. So...
Don Lancaster's The Case Against Patents. Basically that patenting is not always the same thing, just what Xalky said.

feedthisway, have you made any progress? I've not been able to give the project much time lately, 'though I do now have refill points attached to all four tanks.
I looked at it again, for the 10th time and you are correct! Mikling's hole -is- into the H compartment. I kept seeing the long depression in his picture, and looking at the H compartment in your leftmost picture and wasn't looking for the backside of the H compartment. My mistake.
Thank you...
The spring loaded valve just inside the ink outlet, in that tube, is held open when the ink spike is inserted. It is only meant to close when the cartridge is removed from the printer, and is not part of any regulation.
The "drum" is a feed/pressure regulating diaphram. It's not there to avoid...
I'm thinking of ordering ink and cartridges (going to build my own CIS).
I have a wholesale source from China, but there's a huge language barrier and although the prices are very low, there seems to be a $200 minimum order. Or at least the two quotes I've asked for, in both the shipping price...
