I too had problem resetting with Redsetter device (original).
I discovered simple solution was to wipe CHIP contacts with rubbing alcohol ,
just once over with saturated piece of paper towel and then drying with paper towel.
Works every time, with no mucking around. Just insert cartridge and...
Image Specialist ink works great in my IP4300. Must be very close to Canon OEM.
Actually, I cannot see any difference. Since you are in UK, give Martin a try at Octo Inkjet at http://www.octoink.co.uk/categories/Bulk-Ink/Canon-Compatible/
Good Luck with your 4300. Its a great printer for my...
Martin its a Great idea! I could also use two or three CLI-8BK empties. Would be convenient to order thru Octoinkjet with other needles and caps. Shipping cost would be all inclusive. Will keep watch of the "Store". Regards
Get the squeeze bottles and scabbards from Octoinkjet. Martin will sell you SquEasyFill bottles, either 100 ml or 250 ml size, complete with blunt needles and scabbards and appropriately color coded screw on caps. See the different sets here...

Your link is broken.
You might look at the paper weight of that that you are using.
I haven Canon inkjet printers and Canon recommends the following:
"Weight
64 to 105 gsm (17 to 28 lb) (plain paper except for genuine Canon media)
Do not use heavier or lighter paper (except for genuine Canon...
Marceltho: Please dont remove your color study project. It is indeed very useful info and I for one appreciate your efforts. Anxiously await your add-ons as you replace colors. Thank you for allowing this forum to have benefit of your findings.

I have both options to print border or borderless photos with my IP4300 or MP600
and Picasa or Irfanview software. I prefer borderless photos, however Im concerned
as to whether printers might overprint the photo paper stock and leave ink residue within the printer. Is it safer to stick with...
I know that most use the Durchstich refill method. However, I have chosen the top refill method. Some refill movies specify that one must stop refill process when ink level rises to height of bottom sponge. Then seal the air vent and continue filling to top of cartridge. Other movies make no...

Photofan: Just rinse out the magenta tank if you refill from top. Let warm water run thru fill hole on top for five minutes. If you use Durchstich fill method, then purge thru ink outlet port on bottom. You can find photos of hose apparatus for this purpose here in the forum. Otherwise...
You need to tell us what printer or type of cartridges you use.
You can not swap cartridges in later model Canon printers.
Info on this forum indicates the chips are different for each
cartridge type. So black ink must be used in a Canon black
cartridge. And the black cartridge must be install...
Squeeze bottles use Luer Lok needles (twist until tight). Octoink has nice assortment here:

Needles with scabbards (airtight needle caps) come with their bottle kits. You can specify 2" or...
Be sure cartridges are replaced in exactly same position. You cannot place a CYAN cartridge where the Yellow cartridge belongs. They are not interchangeable. Refer to your manual for correct placement. Sounds like you may have mixed them up. Regards
Rockslide: Just rinse out your syringes with hot water. You should do that anyway, even if you have syringes for each color. You may find pigment ink a bit tougher to rinse.
Yes, you must visually check ink levels periodically. How often to check levels,
depends on usage. Perhaps checking...
