Converting Spyderprint 225 patch target to i1Profiler

@crenedecotret : that is fantastic work from you. I might give it a try too. I can scan using both my i1Studio (Colormunki) and my i1Pro2 spectro and see if there is any difference. I am intriged this limited patch count target from SpyderPrint does such a good job. It has only 225 patches. It...

Converting Spyderprint 225 patch target to i1Profiler

I just produced a target using the above combined high quality target + grays (from the Spyderprint target) and used i1profiler to produce the profile. The result is indeed very good: a nice rounded target without any indentation or strange curvings:

Converting Spyderprint 225 patch target to i1Profiler

When combining the Spyderprint 255 patch high quality target + gray ramp target, you get this in i1Profiler: I think the sampling of measurement points around the grey and neutral axis is pretty high now, which should very good black and white printing using this target.

Converting Spyderprint 225 patch target to i1Profiler

Having read the Spyderprint 225 high quality target should produce nice profiles, I decided to make a custom profile based on the Spyderprint 225 patch high quality target: This profile is based on RGB: 5x5x5=125 steps + extra near neutral patches + some grey patches up to 225 patches. I...

ArgyllCMS and X-Rite i1Pro2 target sets

Today I had some time to produce a 240-patch target for profiling printable CD/DVD-discs. I am pretty aware that these are not used at a large scale and in computer terms these are a bit old-fashioned, but the only software package that has a target for printable disc is the Spyderprint package...

Strange behaviour with aftermaket CL-581 cartridges

Yesterday I received my aftermarket cartridges and they weight significantly heavier than the Action.be PGI-580/CLI-581 cartridges (probably only sponge side with ink, but they are opaque, so I cannot see if the ink compartment is filled with ink or not). But since these aftermarket carts are...

Strange behaviour with aftermaket CL-581 cartridges

It could be cartridges too or the ink inside these cartridges. I have ordered another aftermarket set of cartridges and will see how these will behave in the printer.

Strange behaviour with aftermaket CL-581 cartridges

Recently I have bought a Canon TS701 printer to print on printable PVC ID-card, being unable to find a dedicated Epson ET-8550/P900 PVC-ID card tray (strangely enough the ET-18100 has one included). I also bought some Action (a Dutch discount shop that has multiple shops across Europe) Canon...

ArgyllCMS and X-Rite i1Pro2 target sets

The standard 480 patch target for Colormunki (and for the i1Pro2) is already optimized for BW (128 grey steps) and also emphasizes the neutral axis (-N0.75 setting). This is most noticeable with printers having NO grey inks, but it can still improve BW-printing on printers with grey inks (K3...

ArgyllCMS and X-Rite i1Pro2 target sets

Not really, but you can use a paper version as well: My previous ruler is paper based and it works perfectly. Have a look at my other test with both i1Pro2 and Colormunki and the resulting profile is the same.

Somebody who can help me to print something in 3D ?

To prevent scratching/damaging of neighbouring patches it is very important to have some protection. Alternatively you can use some black thick paper like this: One of my first scanning jigs. This way the distance between paper surface and the scanning eye is kept at a minimal distance, The...

    Paper waving

I am not sure what the term emulsion has to do with ink. Dye ink is still a true solution, not an emulsion. An emulsion is a disperse suspension of a lipophilic substance in a hydrophilic medium, stabilised by some surface tension lowering agent (emulsifier) or vice versa: hydrophilic substance...

I have no problem at all printing those files at all. Note: the printer driver should print those files without any color management at all.

ArgyllCMS and X-Rite i1Pro2 target sets

Here is a seventh set for A4 using 750 patches. I introduced extra near neutral patches on top of the already 128 grey step patches and is based on RGB: 8x8x8 steps. I like to have extra grey steps and near neutral patches, because this is the most important area to obtain visually the most...

ArgyllCMS and X-Rite i1Pro2 target sets

The business mode is actually terrible of X-Rite. You know what if they really want to suck out money of your pocket: maybe the software license should have a counter in it: every profile that is created will be deducted from a patch count account of 100,000 patches: if make make large patch...
