Canon Printhead not installed error after washing by amonia

Hi
I have some canon printheads for IP4700 and IP4840 and MP520 that they was some clogged.
I lied them in a mix of amonia and iso probile alchole for some day and after drying, all of them returns same error "Printhead not installed"
Please help me.

Are you saying that these 3 heads gave exactly the same error before and after you had soaked them, but that would make sense because they were dysfunctional before you had started, and cleaning cannot restore any electrical functions after they have been burned out.

before, All of them were printing and only clogged some lines of colors
but after washing by amonia this error apeared.

I am sorry but there is no coming back from all 3 individual errors, there maybe a number of reasons or things that could have cause your problem to get worse, from the ammonia mix been far to strong or the heads were left to long in the mixture soaking, or even not been dried enough.

My moneys on the mixture been to strong, because ammonia should only be used in very small amounts in any mixture, a maximum amount up to 10% with water..

how much of the printhead did you soal, the contacts should nver come itpn contact with liquid

@Reza, I don’t have that information you want for your print head, but another member called @Łukasz would definitely be able to help you but unfortunately he does not visit the forum very often anymore, sorry..

It work fine but yesterday but today it printing not good.

Hi Reza,
You seem to be having lots of problems with your print heads of late, what brand or type of inks are you using, because the ink is probably the link between all of the heads.

When half of the nozzle check is not printing it’s a sure sign that this side of the head has failed due to poor ink flow or constant clogged nozzles and continuing to print while in this condition.

When you first spot signs of poor output you need to cease all print work and attend to the issue straight away, its usually caused by the cartridge and not by the print head itself and if not remedied quickly these effected nozzles burn out and will never fire ink properly again, they cant not be fixed.

The only answer to your problem is to purchase a new print head, but you can still continue to use this damaged head for all you work if you make a few changes to your print media setup.

Your need to set the printer to use matte photo paper for all your work, this will enable you to print photos and text documents on plain or glossy paper without the use of the PGBK black, you wont notice any difference except the text prints will be a bit bolder and take a bit longer to complete, plus the text will not be water proof either..

What about the contacts between the head housing assembly and the print head? Sometimes they get covered in ink or contaminated and this will give 'head not installed' error, also check the contact springs have not been accidentally bent. Use a slightly moist lint free cloth to wipe the gold contacts, 'I' myself wouldn't be applying any cleaner of any kind.

The head nozzles do burn out though, imagine a electric kettle should there be no water in - consider each nozzle an electric kettle.... sometimes when they do 'blow' it takes the logic board with it, not always but it 'could' do. The ink acts as a coolant that's why they're called bubble jets.

Clever stuff innit.... boiling a bit of ink and splattering it in the right place on a bit of paper to make a pretty picture.
