My MP500 started to act up yesterday. See above nozzle check pattern. Looks electrical in nature. Darn. This PGI-5 CLI-8 workhorse has been with me. For the heck of it, soaking with the usual and all other quick fixes yielded the exact same nozzle check as before.
I brought out my MG8120 from storage and set it up. A much larger printer in comparison.
I had decided to take the MP500 to the recycler but the weather prompted to delay that.
So I decided to use it out to the max as it was still good for Black documents. Approx 300 pages later the lower nozzle check came out!
Go figure. I know..I was lucky and there is something electronically odd going on but nonetheless, I will repack the 8120. The MP500 goes back into service.
