Hello,

I have an Epson 835 system and recently ordered the "Epson Artisan 700 710 725 730 800 810 835 837 (Deluxe tank) MultiChip" from Leonard's lhent.
Now, my black ink has run out and I need a replacement. Leonard has run out of ink for the Epson Artisans. What replacement ink refills would you suggest for this CISS system, while waiting for Leonard's to be back in stock?

Thanks - Oyiwaa

I have an Artisan 725 so we're talking about "Claria" type dye based inks and 6 colors right? I'm sure there are a lot of excellent inks that will do the job, as for me, I have been using inks from InkJetCarts with excellent results, but I recommend you find a source that you personally like for the long haul!

Ink is only one half of the equation, the paper is just as important. I've had my best results with dye based inks (Claria type) in an Artisan or some Stylus printers. I use Kirkland professional glossy photo paper and with that combination I've had no fading so far over the last 6 years nor is it a problem to wet the print in running water. I do mostly full color photo prints in 8 1/2 x 11 or 13 x 19. The 13 x 19 in an Epson 1400 printer. If the prints fade in a hundred years or so I doubt It will matter to me very much! I have used pigment inks with good results but I prefer dye based for most of my projects! Head clogs are rare as long as I print something at least every other day, although I've gone for several weeks at a time and came back to find no clog problems upon printing again. Having said that, as extra insurance against the rare but always possible clog , I keep a set of damper cartridges filled with windex handy. I would use them as if they had ink in them and print test pages over and over.

Kirkland paper is only available at Costco, Kirkland is Costco's generic brand for everything.

Look on Costco's web site. Unless something has changed, non-members can purchase items from Costco online for a 5% surcharge.

So far my cost at Costco for 150 count Kirkland Photo glossy inkjet paper has been just under $19.00 a box. I have also seen some very good products at higher prices, but not bad, from Red River Papers.
I imagine the shipping to another country will add to the costs, and I wonder if free shipping deals apply to overseas customers? Anyone know? By the way, For very little money Red River sells a "sample" box of paper containing most of their different types and weights of paper and that was a good deal. It also helped me to decide what paper worked best on various printers and with different inks!
