fotofreek you have hit the nail on the head. Unless there's a work round..

The only way is to choose Epson combined with the famous UDPS utility. I use it on my Epson Pro 3800 and it can handle up to 6.5 metres and also tested on my new Epson 1400 and it does the trick.

Hi

I just payed with Canon S100 with BC 20 single color cartridge and it work absolutely perfect for up to 6 sheets size banner. You can as well refill that BC 20 cartridge with various colors or different formulation pigment inks. Simple and easy to replace and huge just imagine 40 ml capacity from this toy.

Thank you for the suggesting the Canon S100 and yes I do remember that printer well, but that was back then when there were no such restrictions imposed on us by Epson or Canon..

P.S. you do realise how old this thread is..

As I said I just got it.

And if you are looking at some new similar Banner printer you can break your legs, and you would not find anything under €1-2000

And this one suit the job perfectly. So it does not matter how old it is if you solve your problem simply and easily.
Just imagine 40 ml cartridge with print head on it filed with verified and justified CYM or Bk Latex ink. You can print with it on any Latex compatible media and put that banner outdoor.
All what matter is that verified ink and S100 is back in the business. No competition on the market. Absolutely none

Out of curiosity: The printer is maybe 20 years old. How does it work with Windows 10? Does an old W2k or Win XP driver work With Win 10?

It works fine on XP No problem. So if you do have that kind of appetite you can easily an install XP partition and be happy and with a smile on your face while the others have to go middle of the road and pay a fortune for just an simple banner

If I was seriously into banner printing, the last printer in the world I would ever consider even if they were still available, would be the Canon S100, (Win 98 days) and I’ll tell you why...

It was designed for the home user who knew nothing about printers and just wanted to print plain text and the odd colour photo, and it didn’t even do that without constantly having to beg the Feckin thing to print, the down time was horrendous. (Epson were king back then)

As little printers go, it would never get onto any list of good printers to own, to class it as a toy would be insulting to the toy industry, in a nut shell I can describe it as a nightmare to use, a typewriter is far more reliable and faster for your letters, if you don’t mind the odd typo..

You simply do not understand what I am talking.
Give me some new printer with ink capacity of 40 ml and printout that you can put outdoor on sun and rain.
Or put it in sea or in pool or stick to your boat or wan if you like to have a banner or message there. Or put it in your pool under water. And change it a couple a days later.
Please give me that new printer-

It still doesn’t hide the fact that the printer is junk and obsolete (Fossil) ...Next thing you’ll be saying it works in Outer Space...
