Hello Hat. No that doesn't work either. I think that I'll dump the Canon and buy another make. But which one?
Thanks to all of you for all advice. Sorry it didn't work out.
Yes I did try to run the update again and in fact when I later reloaded the installation disc it automatically went on line for the latest up dates.
I cannot remember whether the update was firmware or something else.
When I purchased the printer I installed it from the disc supplied within the package.
I can change paper dimentions to A4 or anything else and then confirm. I always match the printer menu to the paper selection on the standard Windows 'Print' command. I can see no fault with my setting of page...
Yes, I'm using only Canon software to scan. I only use Textmaker when I'm writing letters etc in that program.
I have tried using both wifi and usb connections. No solution observed.
Yes agreed. Scanner works.
Scanned, saved pdf, direct copy function on printer or a long full A4 document from...
I get a print cut-off if I use 'Copy', from the printer controls as well as from the computer. I scan and download as pdf and then print from A/Reader. Still cut-off.
To clarify: I get a bottom of the page cut-off whatever I try to print whether from 'Copy' on the printer, print from a text...
I should have added that there is no apply button on my 'Print' page setup screen. Just 'OK'. However the default is 'Letter' . I use A4 so I have to change to that as the printer is loaded with A4 paper.
I use and have used for a couple of years, a purchased program 'Textmaker' by 'Softmaker'.
Adobe Acrobat Reader. I have not had issues with this before.
stratman. yes I did reboot after I uninstalled the machine. The printer is out of warranty.
I may have to abandon the Canon and get something else but I don't like to give up. Anyway there are a lot of negative comments on most printers on the market so which to chose. I had an HP all-in-one...
