I can't seem to make this method work. This is my second IP4500 and the previous had similar problems (also diagnosed here with bad electronics), and I've printed meaybe 300 pages with it. I'm not so fond of Canon anymore :(

Thanks for the offer but I'm from EU. I do like this printer and there are no ip4000 available to me in Slovenia anywhere. Actually all I need is a cheap(refillable) and reliable printer that duplex paper and CD/DVD printing so I guess I should be going after another ip4500 (or ip4000)?

Well I discarded the idea of buying a print head after you stated that it might be also a printer problem. The dealer wants 69 EUR for the print head while a used but perfectly working pixma ip4500 printer can be bought for 60 EUR, what would you do?
