Thanks for your answer. I think it is possible according P.Roark formulas (water+glycerol+surfactant...). I would like to replace CMYK inks in an ET 1810 with different shades of gray, each shade of gray having (more or less) the same visual density as the replaced colored ink. I have measured...
Hello,
Is there a (simple way) to convert density ratio into ink dilution? For instance, I have a black ink with a given max visual density when printed: in what porportion should I dilute it to, for instance, obtain half this density?
Thanks,
Pierre.
Hello,
I have a question for you about ICC profiles and white point. Looking at official ICC profiles from paper and printer manufacturers, I have noticed that their gamut volumes are very similar among gloss/luster/baryta papers and among fine-art/matte papers. So, I was thinking to limit...
However, looking at the spec Of the WF-7840 scanner on the Epson website, it not execaly the same specs: (2400dpi max instead of 4800). But it does not mean that the hardware is different.
I am sure that there is not that much different scanner hardwares around ! Business is business. If one hardware fits all, it is all benfit for the company !
Yes, exactly. There is no scanner restriction. I choose Printprism ET-8500/8550 option and when the Scan2 window open, I choose XP-970 scanner. Problem is I cannot compare my results with those of an approved scanner. I just can tell that the results with XP-970 are good. I do not know if they...
Yes, I know. But space on my desk is limited ! By the way, I bought PrintPrism and made profiles with the XP-970 and the result is excellent. Specifications of XP-970 et ET-8500 scanners are exactly the same on Epson website: I am pretty sure they use the same hardware.
Thank you @pharmacist for the 560 patch target that you posted for me in the other thread !
I was just thinking of giving a try at printprism. However I have an Epson XP-970 scanner that is not listed BUT it seems that the scanner of the XP-970 is the exact same one as the ET-8550/8500...
No, I generally use Relative colorimetry with BPC. To be honnest, the result is quite good with your target. Maybe, I'll try to refine it a bit if I have time. Thank you for your help !
Hello @pharmacist
I made the profile with your 300 patches target. There is a very slight improvement in the shadow, that are less red (it is noticeable with both prints side by side - the difference is very tiny). But it is an improvement. Well, maybe 200 patch was not enough. I will try with...
Thanks. I will try. I began with ~200 patches because I thought that 300 were too small. But, with a bit of practice, I think I can manage such small patches now.
Cheers.
Well,
I think I have another question. I have two printers: an Epson XP-970 and a Canon pro-300. I tested paper profiling on the XP-970 and was very happy with the result on a low cost mat paper (compared to a generic mat paper profile). On the Canon-pro-300, the same profiling procedure (and...
Hello,
I got a response from CHNSpec about various questions I had about the CR30. Here it is:
"- The CR30 will display a red light during normal operation, the green light will remain on during charging, and the green light will flash during testing.
- Computer software testing will be...
Sorry if my messages seem to be posted with a huge delay. There is a note at the begining of most of my messages saying "This message is awaiting moderator approval, and is invisible to normal visitors". Very annoying.
