What is the difference between an HP 94 and 98 cartridge?

I checked, both the 94 and 98 work in the OfficeJet, only the 94 works in the DeskJet. I don't understand why they would restrict the use of the smaller, more expensive 98 cartridge?! I'll see if my friend can switch to the 94, they are higher capacity right? Edit: the 94 and 98 are the same...

What is the difference between an HP 94 and 98 cartridge?

That's kinda what I was thinking. That really pisses me off. Will the 94 work in the "better" printer that takes the 98? I might be able to convince my friend to change if the 94 works in both. She changes the cartridges frequently often before they are empty since it's a portable...

What is the difference between an HP 94 and 98 cartridge?

I have an HP Deskjet 460 that uses a #94 black cartridge and #95 for color. I have a friend with a printer that looks exactly the same, but it's called an "OfficeJet" H-something. It's a slightly newer model. It also uses the same #95 color, but uses #98 for black. Here's my problem: I can get...

Can I vacuum seal half used inkjet cartridges?

I have access to a bunch of 1/4 - 1/2 full HP inkjet cartridges from an office that would otherwise throw them out. (they're for portable printers and they keep the portables full and replace ink early) I can get more than I can use...but I can't really store them, because they will dry out...

    Bad refill quality

Yeah, that's about right - the cheap ink looks like black water. Does better ink actually have some viscosity to it?

    Bad refill quality

Alright, another question. :) If I buy "pigment black" MSI for HP printers from inksupply.com, will I be able to use that in my Epson printer? (CX9400) I just noticed today it's almost out of black, and I've never refilled it before.

Fooey. I'm just curious, what do the commercial refill places do if someone brings in a dried cartridge? (must happen all the time!)

    Bad refill quality

Wow, thanks for all the info everyone. I had no idea the ink was so printer specific. :o One more question - can I refill an old dried out cartridge?

Thanks...can I get good ink on ebay? Is pigmented vs dyed better? All I need is a big bottle of good ink, I've already got all the "kit" stuff. BTW - when I say "terrible print" I mean bleeding outside the lines, kinda like writing with a magic marker.

    Bad refill quality

I have an HP Deskjet 460 printer with HP 94 black cartridges. I have refilled two cartridges, right after they were empty and before anything had a chance to dry out. Print quality is terrible, I print a lot of barcodes and they are almost unreadable with a barcode scanner. I tried HP's software...
