To my knowledge there is not a way to reset these cartridges. We do test our m series dell's from a dell printer via the cpu. Out of all the dells that I have tested all you can do is ignor the ink level indicator and continue printing this does not affect any documents that you might want to print.

There could also be either a scratch or ding or somthing of the sort on the contacts of the cartridge or the printer so I would take a cue tip and rub both the cartridge contacts or the printer pins. When I have that problem this usually corrects it.
First off with the 29,26,20 you might want to try refilling them using some sort of vacume systme the bags in the cartridges can be kind of troublesome if not filled using vaccume pressure. I do not personally feel that any type of snap and fill device is as efficient as filling them under...

For some reason you can interchange with these two models as to how I would not know but these two machines are what we us.
